I went to my local one, Palo Alto, we got in and out in a out 40 mins, that included us parking, going up the escalator, looking for a mattress, downstairs, getting items, line, done. We went around 6pm

It took about 1,5 to 2 months for the Ikea outside lines to dissipate here in the Netherlands. Apart from the restaurant and "supermarket" still being closed, shopping has returned back to normal.

I bought a house and moved during the pandemic. Do not recommend. But you'll find what you're looking for. I love my new furniture and kitchen do-dads. I just had to be patient and try things I might not have tried otherwise (ordering plates online was a leap of faith). I hope your perfect table is at the next store you go to.

The ikea in Costa Mesa from what I've seen is this packed on the weekends . I went on a Tuesday and you were able to walk straight in no lines under tents or anything! 🙂

i have ptsd from iraq but after many years of practice i have it controlled. i only have panic attacks about once every 3 to 6 months. I went to IKEA here in vegas. I have been once b4 and i had the worst panic attack i have ever had. EVER> I had to go to the hospital. i didnt calm down for hours. I 100% relate to this video. I am so sorry you guys didn't get what you needed. I agree the stuff you choose was super cute. I hope you find what you need soon and have a safe and easy move.

A little tip, always check online to see if an item is in stock at your local IKEA. They usually have the amount in stock and if they’re out of stock they will give an estimate date of when they will arrive.

Cool to watch. I was impressed with my Ikea experience here in Sydney Australia. The team did a great job. However customer are just not aware and they just don't care. We were lucky to eat and it was great as they had everything in takeaway containers. Love seeing the same products that we have..

You can search on IKEA and see what store has the items in stock that you are interested in. Additionally Living Spaces is a great option also with good prices.

On the ikea website if you find the products you like it will tell you how many are in stock at each store. We went through this about a month ago and it truly is nuts

Oh no!! I’ve never seen my IKEA like that. It is more of an excursion than a shopping trip though, we always go late afternoon and have dinner there. I would say though back to school is probably the busiest time due to the inexpensive options for college apartments.

Your comment on recreating indie in the warehouse reminded me of "Raiders!". If you havent seen it, its on netflix and is a documentary of how a group of kids began to recreate the movie when they were kids and then picked it back up when they were adults, definitely a fun watch if you havent seen it!

lol i bought the same exact table a couple weeks ago at the Burbank store. Had to wait an hour in line starting at tent 2. they were completely out of the $80 table, but they had the exact same table and 4 chairs for $129 that had an antique stain. dozens of them, on an endcap (different name). I didnt need the chairs, but grabbed it anyway. didn't want to have to go back for a while. crazy!

I went to Ikea in Carson a few weeks ago and we waited an hour and 15 mins.. and only a quarter of the line had shade. Next time you can also check stock and do curbside pick up!

Find a consignment or thrift store & remake something. I know you are on a tight budget & you don't know if you will renew, so that is an option. I hope you can find it. I have been waiting for my new dishwasher since May and they can't pin down a date because of this pandemic. Crazy times these days. Also check out the vloggers on KZbin for Ikea makeovers. I found one that makes some great stuff with Ikea items. He is in LA & goes by Lone Fox. Have fun but stay safe.

Suggestion: have you checked a Big Lots? They carry Broyhill and the price is decent. Furniture is nice. They have a couch similar to the one in Ikea, but a more expensive look. Worth a look see. Good luck at Costa Mesa, same situation as Burbank.

I've gone to Ikea like 5 times since it opened because I was moving and the line isn't too bad. At least Ive never really had a problem with it. Plus once you're in its pretty calm. But yeah definitely kept telling my boyfriend it felt like Disneyland lol

Try Offer Up!!! They have a lot of tables and probably cheaper!!! Just put some elbow grease on it and you have you’re own table :) another way of recycling

You probably won't see this lol but had to say... I was in the Costa Mesa Ikea last weekend and there was a long line. I don't know how long the wait was because I was returning something. That line was WAY shorter! So.... if you need to go back, bring something you want to return and go in that way (there were only about 5 people) then once you're in and return they will let you go in since you're already through the barrier. I really did need to return something and get the replacement, but just sayin.... maybe you don't totally love the color of that thing a ma jig haha.

Big Lots has the best furniture for a cheap price for a new place right away! I’ve bought a few couches from there and they have really cute high top bar kitchen tables, not taking up much room space. Could not recommend enough!

Thank you for telling us your experience. I was planning on going to ikea West Covina yesterday, but didn’t get a chance to go. I wonder if closer to closing time if it’s as crazy. Also, big lots has good comfortable affordable couches as the kitchen table goes that’s a little tuff one. Maybe instead of going on the 25th maybe you can call instead to see if they got it in stock or maybe check what stores it might be available. Or I believe they have curbside pick up. Haha! It was an epic fail for me. Took me weeks to get a spot, then when I did they told us we couldn’t pick it up on the day they specified for whatever reason. We needed to schedule it in our work days to go get it since we live an hour + drive away... anyway, the day they said we CAN go get it wasn’t feasible. They ended up canceling our order and I haven’t attempted a second time since it’s been impossible for us to make it down there.

I've never bought furniture at Ikea that lasted more than a year or two. Spend the same amount at one of your local furniture stores which probably has stuff on sale at drastic discounts to get people into their stores.

Have you guys tried Cost Plus World Market? Nice furniture, particularly for the dining room, at a reasonable cost. Not sure if they have a Marshall's Home Goods in your area -- also a good place for furniture and decor.

The Burbank ikea is always busier and always out of things try OC. It’s funny I’m from nor cal as you know but go the ikeas there on my way home becase there inst any close to me up north, so when I was at DL twice a month before the covid of course krista and would go to the ikeas. ( Burbank ikea also gets I-5 travelers too!) When the parks do open hope to catch you guys again sometime lol the last time I seen you was at the hearthstone lounge! Anyways congrats on your new place.

Usually you can see if something is in stock at a particular store when you're browsing/shopping on the ikea website. Might save you a trip to the Costa Mesa store.
