I have watched 15 or so of these banana fritter tutorials and they are all so complicated compared to my familys. We just mash bananas and add about 2 tablespoon of flour and if they aren't really rip bananas then a tablespoon of sugar and fry them in margarine. Always use margarine it makes it taste so much better with the salty taste of it. That's it. We don't add any of the other things.

I think that’s kind of how my grandmother used to do them, too, except right when they were done & still hot, she sprinkled some sugar on top which would get crunchy - yum ! We loved these so much - I never got an exact recipe from her, but I know she did not use any sugar in the batter

When bananas look like these, we cut each into 3 pieces but in lag ziplock bag freeze for my vanilla protein shake. Just put in bowl run warm water over it. After 2 mins squeeze skin right off. Throw banana chunk in blender yummy. Add a teaspoon of sugar for a sweeter shake. I also add frozen blueberries & spinach 😋

For the person who said that it is a Jamaican recipe. Banana fritters are not only Jamaican. All of the Caribbean and most of the Latin American countries and some parts of America especially the south make banana fritters and banana bread and, of course, the Caribbean diaspora.
@jessicathinks83794 жыл бұрын
It's not. As someone else said, people all over the Caribbean make them. I'm from the Caribbean and was surprised people were calling them "Jamaican" on KZbin.
