This was the first time I seen chloe lip sync and I prefer her live. She partially lip synched but Keke lipped her whole performance. I was shocked to hear Victoria was 100% LIVE! That is rare these days and to have 3 outfit changes and full choreo and to still be live with a headset is unheard of in this gen!!. Cocoooo!!! She was 100% LIVE as well and her stage presence was AMAZING!! No real choreo, just all vocals and presence! Hade everyone in audience shook, especially the men lol. Tinashe was live too as always, but it's sad BET does her so dirty. She never gets the mainstage recognition she deserves, she volunteered to fill in last minuet for Normani and that's fcked up bc she actually has a billboard hit right now, so I hope the VMA do her justice with her first mainstage slot. Anyway, I'm so glad Black American women are bringing live singing back with choreo, I missed it so much!

But ya know what, aside from some missteps and some WTF moments of the evening, 2024 BET awards was definitely ladies night. That's probably the first time ever that you seen so many female rappers performing on the main stage - not outside, not on the mini stage, but on the main stage! with production, with showmanship, with budget choreography and different outfits. Like that's huge!!! and overall female performance was consistent and throughout the evening. Just when you thought female artistry was dead, we had an evening of various performances from women. Tyla showed up and out, Chloe surprised alot of people, even Coco was steady with the vocals and the stage presence for a change. The Usher tribute was on!, Victoria owned the night! the last 6 months she has shown why she is the best new artist and I AM EATING IT UP!. She literally gave y'all an entire experience as a solo artist then ate it up with no vocals during the Usher tribute. Alot of people don't get the big deal with Victoria Monet but WE SEE IT! she's the total package. MIC is On, the dance is ON, the vibe is ON, the stage presence is ON!. she's sharp, dynamic and she's clearly studied from the school of Beyonce, Brandy, Aaliyah and Monica. CLEARLLLYYYYYYY!!!!

Also I love Tinashe so much, but would’ve rather seen her perform one of her songs and one of the guys mentioned above do the tribute. If he he just wanted ladies, Muni Long would’ve probably been the better vocal for Nice and Slow. I love Latto down, but Ice Spice is not as bad as people make it seem.
