Usher is one of the very few male Black artists that can sing (in tune) And has class so much that **his jeans aren't falling down showing his boxers**. he doesn't have the need to do that. The man has talent.

I am loving your comments 901molly60, I came home when I was in grade school in the 90's just to see what new video Michael Jackson had come out with four that month, he really did pave the way, so many artists wouldn't be famous if they weren't influenced by his skills (lol) like Chris Brown, Ne-yo( MJ's Smooth Criminal Video) or 98 degrees, and Backstreet Boys...there's so many more, he knocked down walls in what was suppose to be R and B he changed it and pushed the envelope with his videos.
@Deepstarr702015 жыл бұрын
I absolutely agree with you.I think the biggest problem with the tribute is that there aren't any good entertainers.The R&b singers had weak voices none of them could sing MJ's songs, and when the rappers preformed they were out of place and it was no longer a MJ tribute, just a rap show. Beyoncè did wonderful but it wasn't really a MJ tribute in my eyes.

Joe Jackson is no demon by any means. He was a hardworking man raising his family to be something special with a clear and clean work ethic and made them into superstars. If he didn't you wouldn't even know of a Michael Jackson or The Jacksons or Janet. They are a reflection of his hard efforts.

People never stopped loving M.J. and if you think that then you are the one that is ignorant. Did you not pay attention to when he arrived for court and he had all his fans cheering him on? What about the love that over 750,000 people showed him by buying tickets to his concert that he was going to do in July? If that is not loving him, then what is? He had people that stayed by his side, and we will always stand by his side, even after his death.

I'm not sure if people are actually commenting on this video performance or the entirety of the BET show, but I enjoyed this performance, I found the beginning of this clip very creative. It lost luster toward the end, I actually would have expected more creativity from Ludacris. It seems his hair in afro was his only new artistic contribution to the song. A better finale would have been better to even out such an unexpected beginning.

somuch- its not the black music awards, it is the Black Entertainment Television Award show. That has been the name of the station since its existence. They could call it "Not the MTV Awards", or the "Urban Awards", but at the end of the day, somebody is gonna take offense to it no matter what. I am not in defense of BET as a network as to what they do or how it is run, but I am in defense of their existence and the option it gives to people who are not represented widely in mainstream.

The awards show is not racist!!! It happens to be centered on Hip-Hop and R&B music. You might find anyone of any color on it if they happen to sing R&B or rap. You don't see people complaining about the Country Music Awards, which happens to have 99% white people on it.

@somuch4peace - The reason for the award show, is because you do not see 95% of these artist on the other award shows as presenters, as performers and on their red carpet. So just because half the world will see Beyonce on every other award show, doesn't mean that their should not be a platform set up to highlight and celebrate artist and entertainers that are significant to the black community at large. Their are award shows for Latino's, Asians, even Aborigines, y are people so shortsighted.

Then, I stand corrected and thank you for the information.. I am just so tired of everyone being so negative towards M.J. because of his skin and his looks. No one but his close family and friends completely know the whole story as to why he looked the way he did and its sad that people have to pick on him for that. They just see what's in the papers and what the media wants them to believe, and it just makes me so mad.

Why can't these people use real talented singers and other musicians? I choose to listen now only to classical, jazz and some folk. There is a real love these people have the these genres of music. Too bad those trailblazers stopped with Whitney, Mariah, Prince and now Alicia Keys.

NijyuShogunateSan - Somebody was doing their homework. The problem comes when people try to use logic without history. Of course if BET was made just for the hell of it, or to exclude white people than it would be racist. But if it was created because the other networks failed to reflect black programming or black music, than it makes a lot of sense.

Tennman - when i respond to someone who is asking "how many white people are on the BET Awards" by asking "how many black people are on the Country Music Awards", that qualifies me as racist? Genius. I get it now, I don't know why I didn't see that before. As far as White Entertainment Channel, what would be the point? If whites represented some minority in this country or on our broadcast television, than a WET would make perfect sense. So does Telemundo, Al Jazeera, Indian Channels, etc..
