from Gerry- I did this with strips going long ways. My sheets are 6x9 so I added 2" white strips long ways on one of the block so it became a 9'square and sewed the 6x9" bock to the top of it so the fabric was horizontal. That became one block. When I put the rows together I flipped every other block and the white strips made a great pattern. Thanks for the idea and God bless.

That sounded like a great way to adapt the dryer sheet. would love to see a picture of your finished quilt.

Can't wait to try this. I just saw a video for using these sheets to turn an applique piece. Lots of uses. God bless.

Wonderful! That's a great idea as well. I will have to mention that the next time. I usually use fusible then I only have to iron it down but this is a fantastic idea!

Have fun! This was an eye opener for me, especially after all the scrappy quilts I have done. Now I don't worry if they will seperate after washing. The sheet keeps the fabric secured. Hugs, Robbalee

Here’s a tip I use 2 sheets per load😳 but they get a second use🤪. When I have a bunch of them I’ll use that in a load, so I use up the rest of the dryer sheet! I’ve been very happy with the results. After seeing others use them, I’ve been saving them which also helps cut down on garbage! So I guess I’m getting my moneys worth🤑 Thank You ❤️😀

Yes you are and you are cutting down on the amount of softener that is left in the sheet. Great Job!

I usually use lightweight interfacing for this, but dryer sheets would be cheaper!
@srqquilters11468 ай бұрын
Much cheaper, exspecially if you use dryer sheets anyway. They can be cut down to what ever size you use or use them whole. I don't think i would ever use them like this if they were unused. To much in concentrate, so I probably wouldn't try that.

Thank you for the tip. What's the name of your sewing machine?
@srqquilters11468 ай бұрын
PQ1500 brother straight stitch only. I probably use it more than any other sewing machine I own. I find I mostly just do a straight stitch.

Just remember those are chemicals you are smelling. Especially important when children are using the quilt. They smell great but.....

Thank you for putting that in the comments, that is important to remember.

its not the smells in the dryer sheets, its the chemicals, just like fabric softener - total poison
