To me Ele Shaman signature has always been a Lightning spell out of the other. And I love how they make S2 DF to finally highlighting Lightning Build. I'm so tired to have most tier sets or meta build for ele with LvB. I was so exciting when they add Strombringer hero talent. Sadly it's kinda meh in the beta. Fire (Farseer) is still the way to go for ele shaman by a long shot. Imo, what Lightning build lacking is the proper capstone talent. Fire has Ascendance and its no longer shared option with DRE. It's a HUGE capstone. Fire also has Liquid Magma totem as it AoE counterpart. Primordial Wave only synergize with LvB. There's so much tool for Fire to play with. While Lightning only have Lightning Rod that doing shit, it's not even feel that great on AoE scenario. I can think of some ideas that maybe can fix the issues: 1. Adding Lightning Rod with a passive that make the target to also take 100% overload damage (like what we have on live atm) from Lightning Bolt. That way, lightning may have way better ST damage. 2. Make Tempest interacts with all of the LB components and effects (Overload, PoTM, SK, SoP, etc). It's replacing LB anyway. 3. Bring Electrifying Shock back just like how it is today, to those who favored the weaving playstyle. I'm personally love the DF S2 playstyle a lot in ST fight. The LB combo of Stormkeeper, Surge of Power, and Electrifying Shock is so satisfying. 4. If they really want to tie Lightning build up with PE (Storm Ele is only reasonable to spec with PE anyway), they should just bring back the original Flash of Lightning. Make it into new talent and replace that uninteresting Earthen Rage that no one asked.

The Ascendance package of these 3-5 talent points are too good not to take it in comparison, but will allways fuck up any idea or attempt of a lightning build imo. And we know from legion that chain lightning and Lightning bolt can be tuned to hit hard... lets hope for tuesday

We are going to miss DF talent tree. Even with all it's flaws, it supported two different playstyles and flavours. Now we have 2 hero talent trees that you don't even notice when playing, and a spec tree that's even more disfunctional than the old one

I really want a lightning build with no flame shock, PW, and lava burst. I dont mind electric ice or earth mixed in, but there should a fire free shaman build that is viable.

They need to make Earth Shock amplify the damage of your next Lightning Bolts for a few seconds, and maybe they would cast a free Earth Shock on the target. Make Surge of Power spread 3 Flame Shock instead of 1 or make LMT better like you said, spreading more Flame Shock with a lower CD. Having to play around Totemic Recall is not really a solution, it just makes the rotation more convoluted and the AoE gameplay dependant on that window Seems like this talent tree is a better baseline gameplay wise but it lacks a lot of depths which DF tree had more of I would say

I know some people like it, but I would rip the fire build out of elemental in a heartbeat and shoot it. Its so disheartning to see lightning not feel good and lava burst spam looking like the only viable build. Hopefully they'll come through and make lightning fun before launch, because I wont touch my shaman with a 30 ft pole if fire is the meta. Prim wave, lava surge and the DRE combo was a mistake. Love your videos and I look forward to them coming out! I can't wait to see a "Lightnings saved!" video soon *fingers crossed*

Something still for Dev's to work out is because Lava Beam procs nothing there is no reason to use it during ascendence and ascendence has no lightning proc so it walls off lighting talents a lightning build would want.

I hope there are some viable non icefury builds for someone with less dexterous fingers. Love the class but hope there is some simple builds, don’t have to compete with the best but not too far off.

The nerfs to overloads, and maelstrom has hurt lightning bolt the most of any of the abilities. The should honestly but that by 100% and see what happens. Same with tempest.

How did you get fusion of the elements WA to work on beta? I tried a few different ways to get a weak aura for it and couldn't manage to make it work :(

Stormkeeper needs to be easier to get and it needs to hit like a truck

Maybe they should stop trying to keep ice fury and make our talents fire or lightning focused in the tree and not having us bouncing around all the time

Despite the work they did on the class tree and specialization tree, the hero trees of farseer and stormbringer are still the worst in the game for elemental.

I think Stormbringer has some potential, it just needs to hook into the spec more. Tempest should empower some sort of follow up. Farseer ancestors on the other hand are just flat out boring.

​@kevinjs26 it's like not using any trinkets. They do some damage, they are just not recognisable in any way. Farseer seems just good because of the elemental tree. The only good node on farseer are the grace and lava burst stack nodes. Its so bad
