BETAFPV PAVO20 + DJI O3 AIR UNIT = 4EVER | How to mount a VTX to the Pavo20 cinewhoop drone...

As much as we love ‪@BETAFPVHobby‬ and their Pavo Pico tinywhoop, one of the most frustrating things about them could be that they don't send ready to fly versions of their prebuilt drones. Why aren't they ready to fly, you ask? Because BETAFPV does not include a VTX (or video transmission system) onboard their drones -- leaving folks like us to figure that part out on our own.
On one hand, it's frustrating. On another hand, it leaves us the creative liberty of deciding what system we want to run on the drone and source it at the cheapest price possible.
Regardless, today I am going to show you how to mount the DJI O3 Air Unit onto the BETAFPV Pavo20 as we kick off our review series of this leveled-up tinywhoop! Let's get started, Let's Talk Drones!

Which gloogles FPv are compatible with the DJI O3 air unit? Or only DJi Google FPV?

The DJI 03 Air Unit is a great choice for the Pavo20, as it will allow you to record smooth 4K and 2.7K footage. its good bro

Use floss to get those isolation rubbers on. Loop it, stick through the hole, hook the rubber, pull it through. Really handy trick I learned from Troncat

Get the Pavo 20 pro, it's a new and improved version of the one in this video. More power from better motors and 3S but for the same rough cost. The 03 air unit mounts the same. So you can follow this video for the same basic instructions on how to install it.

This video popped up on my KZbin feed. Its clever stuff that KZbin knows what im looking for! This by far one of the best videos on the subject. I bought a Jumper T Lite Elrs 2.4 to fly my geprc domain 3.6. Im seriously thinking i should have gone with the dji controller. Im thinking i should be able to do this? In other words just remove the elrs receiver and use the 03 air unit.

In theory you should be able to accomplish this IF the FC has the available solder pads or USB ports (RX, TX, G, 9V). However, I would actually advise against the DJI FPV Controller setup...while it is easier to configure, setup, and deploy, it's much less efficient when it comes to maintaining a reliable connection and avoiding a failsafe in flight. I have had my DJI controller failsafe on me twice in circumstances where something like ELRS or Crossfire would not have even blinked. I only recommend the DJI FPV Controller setup to folks that are either brand new to FPV or started with DJI FPV products and either don't have the funds or savvy to jump into the more technical side of configuring FPV peripherals to work with their drones. If you have the know-how and savvy (and patience lol), stick with your ELRS configuration and make that work or keep using it if it already works. If you need it in the air fast and don't have the time or know-how to properly setup an ELRS module with RX, then yeah, DJI might be the answer to your problems. Good luck either way!

Man thanks for this awesome video. I put my Pavo20 together a couple weeks ago but I was having the camera angle tilt issue, and I had not found a definitive solution yet (I was using a zip tie to keep it in place lol). Thanks a lot! BTW- Do you have any recommendations for a sub 250g drone that is also O3 ready to bind? I want to get another quad that is maybe a bit faster or longer range than the Pavo20, while using my own O3 unit.

Criss crossing the antennas is a bad idea, you have just messed with the dipoles and have probably degraded their performance. You would be better off putting then in a vertical and horizontal orientation

That was my next step, but turns out the screws that come with the O3 are the way to mitigate this issue.

The entire construction set is intended for children aged 13-15. The importance of the work performed by a man aged 40!! is too exaggerated. The detailing of the work performed is poorly visible - hands cover it. Much time is devoted to advertising unrelated to the work.🎉 😂
