it astounds me when a southeast asian dance has fingers so far bent back. It looks so hard and painful to an inexperienced person, but in in the end it makes the dance look divine and snake like

I am not from Bali,but as far as I can remember since I was young , I was and still am very fascinated by the movements of their dance. The reason why the camera man is showing the face ,is because their dance has something to do with their eye gestures too. Both the eyes,and hands speak and tell a story So for the camera man to show her eye movements is a part of the dance itself.

My daughter studied gamelan and legong in 5th-6th grade and performed locally...I fell in love with legong
