I'm shocked that she pulled this off. My heart just kind of dropped when i heard that they chose Portishead to do the singing. I'm a huge fan, but Beth's voice is not very strong, nor dynamic. Yet somehow . . . it works. I think just using the piercing element of her thin voice, along with the vocal coaching she received to sing in a sustained high register. Oh my God . . . i am now . . . beyond words.

So you are beyond words listening to a thin, undynamic, weak voice... Makes sense.. Beth Gibbons has a great voice and she tackles the Gorecki 3rd Symphony superbly.
