i like that the show ended with Beth and Chess rather than a relationship with anyone. She was finally at ease with chess she wasn't mentally fighting it anymore and more than just beating Borgov, she realised that she like we knew loves chess but can now be at her best without the drugs. she isnt so much haunted by her childhood but at ease, realising that she isnt turning into her mother. It was quite a content way to end the show. like that she didnt just play to compete it really did make her happy.

OMG I loved Townes for Beth, their chemistry was oozing once they locked eyes with each other. The way he looked at her, you wouldn't have ever guessed that he loved someone else let alone be gay. I was hurt that he told Beth that what he really wanted was to just be friends. I was rooting for those two till the end. Benny on the other hand, I now think that they can prosper into something incredible, they don't love each other yet, but I can see it happening, I can already see it in Benny's eyes. I wish this wasn't a miniseries...:(

She had always struggled with family and relationships, but the ending really shows that its not blood that makes family. Her family was all her friends and how they all came together in the end to help her. I love it so much.

I don't think you can blame Cleo completely though she was a bad influence. In the book she didn't show up and Beth still lost to Borgov in Paris. But Beth in the series would have no way to know that.

Same! He, in a way, was innocent or he brought a sense of innocence into the show, which made me love him even more! He gave Beth a different kind of love, which she had never had. He truly cared for her even when she didn't want anybody too. Although Townes cares for her too, he is not in love with her. And Benny wasn't always good for her. Harry really was the one that would do anything for her without thinking twice.

It's true that the ending was perfect and the most important relationship is between her and chess but I just wanted a kind of very romantic scene with Townes or just more time together. He's so charming!! The perfect guy I think, and the one she loved. I was expecting him to be in the next episode since he disappeared but I felt better when he finally appeared in the last episode. Anyway, I really enjoyed the show.

Me too I think Harry is very suitable to be her husband (I mean husband, not boyfriend). She doesn’t need a male version of herself or a man she loves but didn’t choose her. Harry may look and sound boring for audiences who always favor the bad boy but be realistic I think Harry is really a safe choice for a genius like Beth. She has everything but a person who really cares for her (for who she is) and not only is fascinated by her talent, a person who is somewhat “normal” and reasonable, who can hold her back from drinking too much and can look after her. Otherwise I prefer her to stay single or find some other woman to live with.

Why is she so intj...even the thing about townes...I know I can relate to her a lot but the gay part really surprise me. Even the family part is too similar to me...any one who's intj probably have this family problem when we were younger thus we vow to ourselves that we'll never follow the same footstep that are parents take. never trust a man till you find the right one. I'm basically Beth harmon minus the super chess ability and pretty face. lol. I was literally attracted to a man I thought he likes me too but he's gay... He told me he got confused too but he has a boyfriend which I didn't knew. I ask h why did he not told me,he just answered "I thought I like you and you might unfriend me if you knew I'm gay." He is somehow attracted to me not as a friend but we continued being friends now but not as close as before. I guess I came to like him a lot because not only he's attractive but he's also loyal and trustworthy. For intjs these loyalty and trust is the most important thing.
