I lived in Philly and I heard it on WMMR FM before it was played on AM radio ...soon it became one of the Top 40's on AM in Philly.....Sam Cooked was inspired to write and record the song when he heard Bob Dylan's 1963 song," Blowin in the Wind." from the albumn, The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan in 1963... a protest song that applies today 2011. I can't cover this song with my voice. Not the way Beth sings it. It somehow escapes classic blues progression. She hears certain songs in her mind that come out of her mouth in that unique Beth Hart style. Joe B. knows a good thing when he hears it and they should just stay together. He rivals the best blues guitarists ever! Wow!

Joe is "in the pocket" here. If I had to choose one example of what blues playing is about, this wins. Note the 3 tones he gets from one bend. Very soulful. Beth is awesome too, although she looks like she's on day 4 of a 5 day binge. Check out her and Joe live at the Beacon on the song. "I'll Take Care of You". Powerful stuff.
