This video was taken from “Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa - Live In Amsterdam” DVD and is owned by record label J&R Adventures, LLC, the operator of this channel.
The song “I'd Rather Be Blind” was originally written by Tina Turner Publisher: EMI Blackwood Music Inc. (BMI), EMI Unart Catalog Inc (BMI).
Hot on the heels of their GRAMMY nomination, force-of-nature blues-rock vocalist Beth Hart and guitar hero Joe Bonamassa will deliver Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa -- Live In Amsterdam (DVD/Blu-ray/CD) which is in stores since March 25, 2014. -- the very first live experience from one of music's most powerful female voices and one of the world's greatest guitar players. Against the backdrop of the beautiful, historic Koninklijk Theater Carré in Amsterdam, the performance wows with scorching soul covers from the duo's 2011 debut album Don't Explain and 2013 follow-up Seesaw, originally made famous by artists such as Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Billie Holiday, Tom Waits, Ray Charles, Donnie Hathaway, Lucinda Williams, Bill Withers, Delaney & Bonnie, Buddy Miles, Tina Turner, Slackwax, Melody Gardot, Nina Simone, and more.

I have two children, a two-year-old girl and a three- and almost four-year-old boy, and I play this piece many times so that they imprint in their childhood DNA the taste for quality and the feeling of songs like this. I hope one day, when I am no longer here, they can say they remember that their father played them songs like that, and remember me as a being who wanted the best for them.

So many have tried to compare Beth and Joe's version to Etta's. But that's not necessary. There doesn't have to be a winner and loser. I've seen far too many people trash today's singers, only to hear the original artists praise their work as a faithful tribute and appreciate that the new breed is carrying on the great blues tradition. We all win when artists of this caliber share their passion with us.

She, Etta and Janis will always bring my tears, and I love them all for it. Great music is great music; I love them all, and miss terribly the ones that are no longer with us. Blues and Rockmusic have been with me since I was 13... that was in 1963, when I got my first Kinks vinyl album "You really got me". Many bands and individual artists joined me over the years. During my studies, my enthusiasm for the forefathers of the blues began in a wide range. Then the younger blues musicians like Beth Heart and Joe Bonamasse gave them a huge boost. This live performance of the two of them with "I'd rather go blind" surpasses many things, because the commitment of both of them and the band is hard to beat. Beth Heart touches me very emotionally with her sensitive voice! Thank you Beth&Joe... calls out a 75-year-old fan! 😇🌿🌺🎸🎹🎺🥁🎷

No one LIVING. I take that back, Susan Tedeschi also sings the blues like this. But if you go back 60 years, Janis Joplin and Etta James ultimately have to share the throne and tiara between themselves. Absokutely no one can hold a candle to them except Willie Mae "Big Mamma" Thornton

I listen to this song a lot. People ask me how I can listen to the same thing again and again. They evidently cannot hear what I hear in this song.

I love the chemistry. The whole band is into it and the singer doesn't just stand there while the solo is up. She moving into it and feeling it. I'd love to see this live
