I could listen to her talk all day. She has such perfect diction without it sounding unnatural. She speaks so nicely.

I hope this does not sound prejudice but lesbians have excellent diction for some reason. Maybe it’s just the ones that I know

I don't know why, but it makes me extremely happy that they chose a gay actress to play Alison. It seems as if she has more of an emotional connection with the character and makes it closer(yet this could also be my opinion)

Sam Thym you are so right. As a gay woman, it means so much and I feel so represented
@tigerseye094 жыл бұрын
I think they did it intentionally. Her sexuality being such a central point of the narrative makes it crucial that the actor actually understand some of what their character is going through.

Loved hearing her talk about this story. This is why we need LGBT+ actors playing LGBT+ roles.

This needs to come to the UK, I'm completely in love with the story and soundtrack and I wish it would come here so I could see it in person!

***** I'm sure a production will come to the UK, but unless you get the entire original US cast when a musical transfers, you won't get to see *this* production. Obviously, good material will survive and thrive when new actors play the roles, but there's something very special about these three Alisons (Beth Malone, Emily Skeggs, Sydney Lucas), plus Michael Cerveris and Judy Kuhn as Bruce (father)and Helen (mother). Long way of saying, if you're planning a trip to NYC, get tickets to "Fun Home," and do it soon.

I love this video. As a longtime Alison B. fan and a theater person, it makes me really happy that Beth Malone is playing this role, and now I admire her even more, knowing some of the challenges she's lived through. (It also makes me think once again about how lucky I am, to have had the parents I did, in so many ways.)

I could watch this interview a million times. It feels even more important now that the show has closed. This story isn't over.

Mr. Wontorek, thank you so much for putting this piece together. Brought even more meaning to the most meaningful theatrical experience I've ever had. I've sent this video to a number of friends as a stand-alone piece about art, life, and humanity. Sounds cheesy, sorry. But, thank you.
