True respect here. She never used her handicap in her competition with the BEST! Imagine in our society, the "best" somehow thought they were the "best" and refused to learn and progress. She is blessed and so brave. A shark just took someone's feet off exactly where I swim every single day at that time in lanikai on oahu. I moved here 2 years ago from ny. I just happened to go to ny on a surprise visit the day before the attack. I came back a few days ago and I can't seem to get into the water. I am so so sad. I always felt so safe swimming and it was always my therapy, but now I feel afraid and I hate this feeling. There has never been an attack that has been reported here. This was out of nowhere. So rare. I just don't know if it is going to happen again. I want to swim to the mokulua islands once again and I can't bring myself to do it. Any suggestions from anyone? Any shark experts out there? Oh, I am so so sad.

I got inspired by Bethany, when I was 7 I was down at the beach catching my waves, a shark came up behind me and my cousin and bit her arm off first second I knew it was her is because she yelled out and all the people on the beach called an ambulance, she is living today,,, as her 14 year old self and I'm 14 too just don't want to change my profile, I also had a scar it never went away... Me and her still surf, if you follow me on Twitter I have a pic of me before the attack.
