The entire house of Israel was born from a polygamous family. That means all Christians today are being adapted into Christs family to join his polygamous family Israel . In fact Christ was born from a polygamous family himself .The son of David. David was commanded by God to take wives when he became king. Joseph Smith fulfilled many Bible prophecies by starting the restored church with Israelite polygamy. See my media. Stop being outraged over fulfilled prophecy.

@Bethany Kay - Did you know that is because he wasn't. Did you know that Fanny Alger NEVER claimed to have been married to Joseph Smith? Did you know that the story of the barn incident was first shared in a letter to Joseph's son in 1872 in an attempt to convince him that his father practiced polygamy. Do you know who wrote that letter and what the facts surrounding it? Do you know the history and allegations surrounding D&C 132? Did you know that there is absolutely no credible proof that Joseph practiced polygamy? Do you know the history surrounding the allegations that he did?

You need to study the whole history instead of cherry picked tid bits. All of the church members had to deny polygamous marriages because the mobs were threatening to kill them mainly because of polygamy. Many were killed when the governor signed an extermination order to kill Mormons on site. The Constitution no longer existed for Mormons. No court or Congress would protect them. No different than the Jews in Germany had to lie to the Nazis rulers and declare under oath that they were not Jews. If you admited that they were Jews they would ammediately kill you, and then burn your children alive. Even Joseph Smith had to deny polygamy to protect his family. Mobs came in and blew the heads off of Mormon children at Hawns mill. Remember? Even the U.S president refused to stop the mass murders and burning out of Mormon homes and entire communities. The Mormons were no different than the Jews in Germany. Abraham lied to pharough in Egypt or he would have killed him. He told the king Sarah was his sister. Guess what, God went to bat for him and forced pharough to let both Abraham and Sarah go free. If you get the records recorded in Hales new book you'll see that Fanny was a polygamist wife and everyone including her own family knew it. Anti Mormons deceaved you exactly the way the liberals in Washington are now doing. You need to test both sides of anything you hear or you'll never be objective.

Do a careful reading of D&C 132 that outlines plural marriage and you'll notice the words destroy and obey used many times and you never see words like love or cherish. Joseph's polygamy wasn't just about sex, it was also about control.

When my brother was doing his doctorate in Utah he had access to the library that was under lock and key. He saw the pioneer diaries and things like that. He went to some of the apostles and ask them to reveal the truth of our history to the members, instead of a “white washed” history. They told him if he kept digging around and asking questions he would be excommunicated. Instead he had his name removed.

Some historians consider the bigger revelation in the Nauvoo Expositor not the polygamy accusations, but rather that Joseph as anointed King and trying to set up a theocracy. Polygamy was pretty much an open secret by 1844 according to these historians.

My ancestors joined the church in the 1850's in the Netherlands. They worked with the american missionaries for years teaching "the gospel" in their home country. They decided to join the saints in Utah, so they sold their business, and sent two children ahead to America (The parents stayed behind waiting for a young baby to become stronger before they started their journey.) During that waiting time they helped translate D&C 132 into Dutch and that was the first time they ever learned about polygamy. They'd already sold everything and sent children ahead so even though they were deeply troubled by the practice, they stuck to the plan and moved to Utah. The mormon church has been lying or withholding information from members from the very beginning. That is Joseph Smith's legacy.

Richard Holmes Friend, What you gave was your opinion. Period. Based on nothing. I don’t know how long you have been LDS but it is a fact that the church has hidden from the public and from the members all of this disturbing information about its early history. I was a devout member for 20 years and went through Seminary, Institute, served an honorable mission and always held a temple recommend to the day I left. Never did I hear any of this true information being disclosed anywhere in the church. 20 years ago, the church was calling liars anyone who talked about this. Well, it ended up that people like the Tanners were not the liars because now with the internet being flooded with all of the information, the church has been forced to admit at least partially, to the truth.

The church teaches that when you feel good for sharing your testimony, that's the "spirit" telling you it's true. Once they get that emotional attachment they own you, lock, stock, and underwear. If something makes you feel bad, that's the adversary. So when you come across information that is contrary to what you believe, of course it makes you feel bad. And what's that feeling? It's the devil. It's such a preposterous, insidious way of controlling people.

Yup, that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach isn't Satan; It's that first inkling that you've been lied to and you have built your life on falsehoods. Every Mormon has them from time to time. They hear something taught at church and know that objective reality just doesn't match what they are being taught. Then they put it out of their minds with "I'm gonna ask God about that in the afterlife" then move on with their oblivious lives. Those moments are scary but they represent the first moment of awakening, to the realization of the prison of falsehoods Mormons have been conditioned not only to accept, but rely on. But the beliefs aren't supporting them, they are holding them trapped in a prison of subservient obedience to the whims of a few fraudulent men who benefit financially and socially by keeping them imprisoned and keeping them "praying, paying and obeying".

I used to see the fundamentalist mormons (that still practice polygamy) at the grocery store all the time and I felt so much responsibility to help them escape. It's frustrating the most mormons in the bigger sect of mormonism think those fundamentalists are just crazy and have nothing to do with mormonism! They're actually the more unchanged version of Mormonism, and if that's scary they should take a look at what they used to believe!

Bethany Kay Do you have Amazon Prime? I watched a video today that you might enjoy if you're searching for truth. It's called the Bible vs. Joseph Smith and revolves around Deuteronomy 18 and the test of a true prophet of God. The prophets of the Book of Mormon all failed the test as well as Joseph Smith's predictions. Deuteronomy 18:21-22 says: "‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’- 22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken;" Regarding your question, it's not that cut and dried. It's not that man has touched the scriptures. It's the lies that have been told about those who touched them. What the video shows is that the bible has over 40,000 ancient manuscripts and scrolls that date back thousands of years and the Book of Mormon has zero. The Bible was written over a period of about 1500 years and does back about 4000 years. It was written by over 40 different authors from all walks of life, speaking many different languages from parts of Africa, Europe and the Middle East. The Book of Mormon was written by one man less than 200 years ago that woke up one day and decided to write a book about his revelation from God with no witnesses and no historical documents to prove what he says. That would be like me waking up tomorrow and writing a book saying that God had revealed it to me and that everything else was corrupt. The only corruption that took place of the Bible was when Joseph Smith added himself into it. We have ancient manuscripts that predate the early church, which Smith said had corrupted the Bible, that shows that Smith lied. None of the prophets in the book of Mormon appear in any historical documents, biblical or extra-biblica. There is no record of the names Nephi, Alma, Lehi, Mosiah, Moroni, etc. anwhere in the history of mankind. They began to exist in 1832 when Joseph Smith published the Book of Mormon. Did you ever wonder why the Book of Mormon prophecied the man who wrote it? That's a dead giveaway so he had to go back and change his King Jamers Bible, adding himself into several books like Genesis, Isaiah and Romans. Another key verse that Smith rewrote is John 1:1 that refers to Jesus as the Word. In the Bible, John 1:1 reads, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Smith’s version reads, “In the beginning was the gospel preached through the Son. And the gospel was the word, and the word was with the Son, and the Son was with God, and the Son was of God.” He changed “the Word was God” to “the Word was of God.” By doing so, Smith stripped Jesus of his deity. Not a single scholar would agree that Smith’s version is an accurate translation of the Gospel of John. The most ancient copy of the Gospel of Joh that we have goes back to the year 150 A.D., more or less. That is the papyrus which is called papyrus 66. This earliest copy that we have of John 1:1 is only about 50 years older than when John originally wrote that Jesus was God. As one who personally knew Jesus, John is a more trustworthy witness of who Jesus was rather than Joseph Smith who rewrote John’s testimony roughly 1700 years later. The Jesus from John 1:1 in the Bible is completely different than the Jesus in the Mormon Bible. I wish I could go on because I do care about your salvation and by that, I mean your eternal life. Maybe you can find that video on KZbin. It's free on Amazon Prime.

@@BethanyKay I just realized that you're the one who put up the video. I'd love to talk to you. If I remember correctlly, you're an atheist now? I feel sad that you were misled but I can assure you that the Bible is true and untampered with. I've studied how the scribes transcribed the mss, how the scribes were passionate about Jesus Christ and took pride in the accuracy of their work. If they made a mistake, they trashed the entire work and started over. This was handed down from father to son. The Great Isaiah Scroll was found at Qumran in the 1940's and is the complete book of Isaiah. It dates to about 200 B.C. and is pretty much word for word what we have today. We have many, many scrolls that predate the assertions by Smith that the Bible had been corrupted. He was a false prophet presenting a false gospel.

The energy of the universe is given to all freely, no one must join a certain group, or follow a strict set of rules, to experience the beauty of infinite consciousness we call life. Energy cannot be created or destroyed. We don't end when we die. And just as the animals, plants, insects are all completely innocent and loved as part of the whole, so are we, completely UNCONDITIONALLY, without having to do ANY special set of actions to be "saved". I have it. I know that there's only one God and I know who He is and he's not a part of a group and no special actions are needed for salvation other than believing in His Son. Your video is titled "Will You Ever Be Good Enough? That's why most Mormons are confused about their salvation. Romans 10 tells us that it's our faith only that saves us. Works are taught by men... man-made religions like Catholicism, Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses, and so on, teaching that you have to earn your way to heaven but it's a lie. It's by God's Grace alone, a free gift and you are good enough. Romans 10:9 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. The evidence for the fact that Jesus lived and died and was then resurrected is how we know that there is only One God and that He came into our world and walked among us in the person of Jesus Christ to teach us how to come back into a relationship with Him. I hop that one day you'll realize that He's there for you and He loves you.

As a prophet, Joseph Smith is characterized fundamentally by the three least spiritual motives: money, sex and power. 1. Money: Kirtland Safety Society Anti-Banking Company. 2. Sex: instituted and practiced polygamy; Fanny Alger affair, etc. 3. Power: Joseph had political aspirations of running for the presidency of the United States. Finally, the book of Deuteronomy provides instructions for discerning between true and false prophets: if what they predict fails to come true, they are no prophet of God, but speak by their own volition. And in Joseph's case, his declaration that the New Zion temple would be built at a specific site in Independence, Missouri before his generation passed away, did not come true. See Doctrines and Covenants 84.

First of all, For one hundred years the LDS Church always acknowledged that Joseph Smith was a polygamist. That didn't start to change until sometime around the 1950s. That is why it always perplexed me when members of the LDS Church vehemently denied he was a polygamist, and now they are leaving the Church in droves because they just found out he was a polygamist? That just doesn't make any sense to me. In the second place, I am descended from one of the women who married Joseph Smith. In my great, great grandmother's case I need to set the record clear. She wrote in her journal that in 1838 her husband apostatized from the Church and became a bitter enemy to Joseph Smith. She didn't, and she eventually left her husband. Over four years later in 1842, she was sealed to Joseph Smith for time and eternity. She also wrote of her experiences of how she seen angels, and prophesied in tongues and interpreted in tongues in meetings with other members. It was in a language none of them ever heard before, and yet they could understand what each was saying. The experiences she had were overpowering. Why did she have to stay married to her former husband who had become an enemy to all of that, and give up everything about the Church that she loved and knew was true? Ever since the Hoffman forgeries have tainted Church records, and all of the revisionist historians have been twisting the facts and writing books about polyandry using my own great, great grandmother as an example, it is hard for me to not feel offended by it, especially when I know it is not true in the case of my own family, and I suspect the families of the others as well. For all of you are are offended by the concept of polygamy in the LDS Church, just look to the example of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Modern Christians will tell you that Abraham and Jacob sinned by being polygamists. Yet just consider how absurd this thinking is. God called Abraham the friend of God. God himself walked and talked with Abraham as one man talks with another, as one trusted friend to another. God was so fond of these men, that He proclaimed that He would henceforth be known as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of the polygamists. Now if that too offends you, and you wish to wander off and become something else then by all means go and do it. But if you think the Mormons were hated by the world and it was the fault of the Mormons, then how do you explain why Jesus Christ Himself and all of His disciples were far more hated by the world than the Mormons ever were. They were all put to death with extreme prejudice by the world. If you are going to be consistent in your condemnation of early Mormons, and not harbor any double standards then you might as well explain what Jesus, Peter, Paul and all the rest did to the world that was so bad it caused the world to hate them so much. How do you explain the whole world hating Sauron and banding together to destroy him? Weird how stories can be written and told in ways to serve whatever narrative is wanted. Joseph wasn't hated for being a prophet of God, he was hated for being an egomaniac, and sexual predator. Main point though, look at the fruits of polygamy today. Look at what it has done, and what it causes. Look at its remnants, that are ardent believers and followers of Joseph Smith. It is nothing but harmful to the women and children trapped within, and quite frankly shame on you for trying to defend this awful practice. It's great if there are those that managed to survive it, or endure it, (and better yet, escape it) but it should never be defended because of the harm it still causes.

@@acronen Sauron? Wasn't that a fictitious movie? How does that explain why Jesus and His followers were the most hated people on earth in their day? "he was hated for being an egomaniac, and sexual predator." Joseph Smith never produced any children with any of his wives besides his first one. Think about that. And the Church in those days was 100% against abortion and all forms of birth control. I could plainly show you why Joseph Smith was hated by the world, and still is to this day, but I fear you lack the ability to understand what I am talking about: " I [Jesus] have given them[His disciples] thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I [Jesus] am not of the world." John 17:14 "11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. @@acronen "he was hated for being an egomaniac, and sexual predator." - acronen "Keep your insults out of this," - acronen "Fictitious book made into a movie." Okay, so it was a fictitious work. You got me there. Pretty much everyone in the United States knew who Joseph Smith was during his lifetime. Today he is known throughout the world, and everyone who knows anything about him, has a strong opinion on him, good or bad. That is okay because it was prophesied to be that way. There is nothing about "Mormon Scriptures" ( not personal viewpoints) that is in conflict with any known unalterable fact or any physical unalterable law. It does conflict with the personal and professional opinions of nearly everyone now alive. You can disregard the testimonies of thousands of early Latter-day Saints, who testified they seen angels, they spoke in tongues, prophesied in tongues and interpreted in tongues etc. Of course they were all lying right? Or they were all deceived per chance, as in that angel or heavenly vision they seen was just a figment of their imaginations? But you are not coming to me with an open mind, are you? You are here to attack. Pretty much everything said against the early Mormons has already been said against first century Christians, so there is no new thing under the sun. Whatever was done to Joseph Smith was also done to the prophets throughout the old and new testaments who were put to death for the message they carried to the world. That is just the way things have always been. Look, we can trade insults til the cows come home. I have been in this same debate more times than I can remember. So if you truly have something to say beyond the usual predicted talking points then by all means attack. Otherwise, I have said my piece, and if anyone chooses to believe like me then that makes me happy. If there is nobody left in this world who believes like me, then that is okay too, because that is the way it was meant to be. I know what I know. I worship God according to the dictates of my conscience, and if everyone ultimately chooses to believe another way, I am totally fine with that too. If someone attacks me or my religion, I may or may not choose to defend it. This isn't my channel, I learned very well how easy it is to be censored. Sometimes, the less said the better, and whoever is meant to believe, will believe. Have a good night.

You should read the biography of Leonard Arrignton by Gregory Prince.Y ou can get it from the Library. Leonard Arrington was the first professional church historian. He kept excellent journals and records. The biography was written from his journals. The author is a very respected Biographer and member of the church. In the 1970's Arrington was given full access to the churches archives to organize the archives and write an updated church history. When it became clear the churches narrative did not add up... and all the problems discussed here (and more) came to light ...What did the Brethren do? Sealed the archives...disbanded the history department... prevented books with the facts from being published... and threatened the historians into silence silence. After reading this book it became clear to me that the deception is intentional... that the leaders of the church know the narrative is not true, and for control and financial gain they continue to and hide the facts and lie.

You really do need to do some research before you parrot what you heard in Sunday School. Literally everyone knows more about Mormonism than Mormons for the simple fact that everyone else will actually look at the history where as Mormons will not. Mormonism is like a big game of Marco Polo. Everyone else has their eyes open and can clearly see what's up but Mormons have their eyes closed and won't look at the evidence because "muh testimony". The funniest part is that Mormons will presume to to be knowledgeable and spread obvious misinformation that everyone else can see plain as day for the absurdity it is because they were willing to spend 20 minutes doing some unbiased research where as Mormons will only study things that teach about how "true" the Church is. Pro Tip. If you need to constantly repeat that something is true then it probably isn't. When was the last time you needed to have a meeting with your community to reaffirm to each other of literally any other objective truth? Do you need to constantly indoctrinate yourself that gravity is "true"? That Water is wet or the Sky is Blue? No, no you don't. Then why would you accept that if you deviate from the relentless self-indoctrination program of reading scriptures daily, praying constantly, and attending Church activities several times a week you will "lose your testimony" that the Church is true? There is no truth that requires that much convincing or constant indoctrination. There is and there isn't. Mormon truth claims are clearly isn't.

In there it states 'During the era in which plural marriage was practiced, Latter-day Saints distinguished between sealings for time and eternity and sealings for eternity only. Sealings for time and eternity included commitments and relationships during this life, generally including the possibility of sexual relations. Eternity-only sealings indicated relationships in the next life alone. Evidence indicates that Joseph Smith participated in both types of sealings.' I might be reading this wrong - but I believe this means Joseph was having sex with his wives. We also know from at least Sylvia Sessions Lyons that she thought at least she was having sex with Joseph, as she told her daughter Josephine that she was Josephs.. This was one of the polyandrous relationships.

sigh....READ THE JOURNALS OF THE VICTIMS BEFORE DECLARING INNOCENCE because you've only listened to the defendant's century old excuses.

WOW JS DID NOT NEED PERMISSION FROM EMMA TO BE SEALED TO OTHER WOMEN. if my wife died I can be sealed and married to another woman making me a polygamist in the next life I did not need my dead wife's permission.

I dare you to try to get sealed to another woman right now while your wife is alive without her permission. Go on, and see how well that goes over.

Perhaps not permission but in D&C 132:61, it does state that she must be given the opportunity to consent (which did not happen for most of them) and of course the other wives must be virgins. The 10-12 wives he married who were already married to other living men, obviously do not meet these conditions - at least one was already pregnant when he married her (Zina). BTW The church admits the polyandry in their recent Gospel Topics Essay at www.lds.org/topics/plural-marriage-in-kirtland-and-nauvoo?lang=eng&old=true Footnote 29.

People believe what they want to believe. If the Church teachings don't fit your lifestyle you can easily find a way out and then make videos to try to justify your decision. If you can persuade others to join you in exiting it appeases the guilty conscience. The sad state of anti Mormons

the sad sad state of mormons. you are in a cult. why would you possibly want to be considered christian if all the creeds of chrstianity are an abomination? don't attack christianity and then say you're a christian. admit you're in a sex cult. admit you believe in polygamy and that you will become a god with many godess wives and you think you will live forever having sex with all your godess wives. admit you don't believe in hell. christians believe jesus saves from hell. you don't believe in a hell. you believe in 3 degrees of glory. no hell no need for jesus to save from hell no need for a saviour.

Or, maybe, just maybe there is no guilty conscience. Or should we flip the script so you can see how absurd you sound. Crazy how so many mormons try to justify their belief by constantly bearing their testimony, and sharing it to justify their decision to believe in some demonstrably false things. Crazy how they try to persuade others to join them all the time to make themselves feel better about their choice to believe in these absurdities. The sad state of anti reality Mormons.

@@longnamenocansayy We really don't care much about what the Mormon haters have to contribute. We will do just fine and always have. Christ's Church has always been persecuted. We also aren't too concerned that "Christians" don't think we are Christian. You have found anti mormon tales that you want to believe so there is no changing your mind. You make claims that have some truth but are really ignorant of Mormon Doctrine. You sound like you were probably a member of the Church until you found out that our Church actually requires something of its members and then you started looking for the door. Unaccountability is peaceful for some people.

@@raymond1842 Oh my, please, please, please look at ANY scholarly view on just about any topic discussing mormonism. You will find they are overwhelmingly not in favor of mormonism. I'm not the one that has made up my mind, it appears you have though and can't let information in.

polygamy was a calling like every other position in the church. most of the church members did not practice this and marriage was, and still is, between 1 man and 1 woman. yet im sure you are pro gay and lesbian marriage aren't you? I think with this actual abominations of acts that Mormons should be allowed to practice their beliefs in full.
