It's sad how some people here are so judgmental. Like Ellen said, we truly don't know what happens once the cameras are off and the doors are closed. We have all done and said things we wish we could take back. Or have acted a certain way and later said "gosh, why did I behave like that"? I can only tell about divorce by my parents experience. And It's hard, only people who faces it know it. Bethenny always put her life out there and have a open relation with public, but She still a human, a mother and a Wife back home. Ellen is right, nobody know what goes around the 4 walls. Being a celebrity or not, she deserves all of our respect and love. And specially Brynn, but I'm sure Jason and Bethenny will do the best for her. bethenny is very professional, at the start of the interview she is well aware that she is a reality tv show celebrity and therefore she understands that the press will not only celebrate her success but also her failures. money doesn't equal happiness, meaning even though bethenny made all that money she admits that being a reality star is hard in the sense where she does not have privacy and that sometimes she does want a break from all of it. divorce is hard for anyone, she is no exception

Marriage is hard even when it's good. Been married 23 yrs so I feel I can kind of speak on this. Before I found the right one, it was just confusion and heartbreak. So no, I don't think Bethenny and I would be good friends if we knew each other, but I feel compassion for her. Clearly these are real tears, not fake. Did you listen to anything Jason said about her? She was just trying to please everyone and be perfect, and a person can't physically do that. Yet, Jason ALWAYS put her down. He called her stupid too many times to count. And he did need to find his passion in life, as everyone must do. He basically quit his job to ride on her coattails. Apparently, when the woman is paying alimony, it's "you go girl!", "aww, what she's going through is shitty". When a guy is paying it, it's "pay up or face the cooler". Where's the sympathy for the MEN? What's with the double standard? Where are the awwwss and tears for the men being ABSOLUTELY shafted by said alimony lawsuits. She got a deal 80% of divorced men would kill for. 97% of alimony payments are made by men. Should the awwwss only go to a minority?

Whinge to someone who can make a change if anything - it is not her fault how the law works. Woman are in the minority, as it's normally the majority of men who are the breadwinners. I watched my best friend hand over half of all the assets SHE had. He would not keep a job so she clothed feed and paid the mortgage for two, let alone that he would become aggressive if money was not on hand to take. She couldn't leave the house as he'd get it - So stayed on a sofabed while keeping down her job of course and he slept with other women in there with my friend in the house. It seemed crazy that anyone would be awarded money for nothing. Yet he did! She's richer than ever now, she has now moved on and has children. He put his half down the drain in one year.

Which it's not! - Example of the top of my head... Should Paul McCartney give his last skimming ex-wife HALF of what he's made during his life? NO! We know she's a just shameless golddigger. As of course, 18million wasn't enough it seemed. Now IF she'd been with him since the start and she raised his children while he went out to do what he does while having the honour of a family with children too, then yes, he would and should owe. This is not the case with Bethenny and Jason either, she made it on her own well before he came into her life. Giving the fact that it is mainly men in 'high seated places' that pass these laws and are the ones that could change things, why have the laws never changed with the times. It's certainly not a woman's doing. I DON'T EVEN DISAGREE WITH YOU, I JUST OFFERED AN 'REASON TO MAYBE WHY' People should do the right thing for fuck's sake. Sounds like America needs to sort their laws out surely, as you've clearly pointed out, times have changed and women are now much more in the workplace. I watched her reality show, and honestly, they were both very passive aggressive with each other (based on what was shown anyway) They were very “one up-person-ship with each other. Jason was intimidated with her success, he came from being a pharma sales rep making $70-80k a year, then then, she become a multi-millionairess. I think he was truly happy for her success on one side, but intimidated on the other. Most men would feel emasculated, he struggled with should he work with her, or not. Tough decisions. Jason came from a small town where he was King, into a relationship where Bethenny was the Queen and he was the Prince. Tough spot for any relationship. If you listen to them during the mini-series it was painful to watch, especially on vacations, when they had time alone. I think they both did the best they could under difficult circumstances.

My parents got divorced after 20 years of marriage. they worked for 20 years! when it came to it though... they just couldnt see themselves together for another 20 and now I have 2 amazing step parents and families. Unfortunately, getting back together seldom works. People say it's for the child, but if you are constantly bickering or living under a stressful situation, that is NOT good for the child, teen, pets, etc. Better to regroup, set priorities, keep a calendar, pay bills and get things back on track for you.
