Bethesda Has Finally Opened Up the SECRET Mirelurk Den

UPDATE: The cave had been renamed “Mire’s Eye” and it now has a map marker.
The Mirelurk Den is a new unmarked cave location in the Mire region that developers of Fallout 76 have been teasing for years, but I suspect very few people knew about it.

Yep. They can't make a good rpg for toffee, but my GOD they do passive storytelling so well. There's nothing I enjoy more with a TES or fallout world than just going for a wander and trying to piece together a random bit of lore. It's why I feel Starfield doesn't work. They forgot that procedural generation doesn't work with environmental storytelling.

Nope, it's happening to everyone. You shoot them and they become hostile, but friendly otherwise. I quite like it, but it does make it a tad more difficult for vats players. (However the only Queen I've seen since was immediately hostile.)

There are lots of secrets around the NE part of the map in FO 76, I have found 4 different extractors Copperf, concret, acid, lead..

These eggs are huge! Much bigger than the normal sized eggs, which was what initially caught my attention outside the den before they put the totems by the entrance. There’s a photo in my video of this, showing two hatched eggs and one unhatched. I thought “is this a new kind of Mirelurk?” Then later on when they added the totems, the egg changed to a hatched egg, which really made me wonder!! At some point I had discovered the boulders and figured out there was a cave behind them, I had cleared the boulders using a fallout worlds camp that would let me build over the den. When the cave appeared I was blown away! Though it wasn’t ready and could not get inside. Still, I felt like a true explorer!! Finally, Bethesda added the door this recent update so we could all go inside.

I always thought that the first time they eluded to a mole miner tunnel system was when you use the Mother Load to break into vault 79. At onepoint it breaks through into a mole miner tunnel / cave before continuing on to 79.

You can find a entrance and a rather large cavern That I suspect is supposed to be part of that network in fort atlas's basement.

Had friendly mirelurks at a workshop underattack. Ended up being great pets after I took out thier crawfish buddies.

Thet's cool. I used to have a treehouse camp up in that area in the tree that has structures in it near there. I saw those mirelurk totems there a few months back and was wondering what was up with them . Going to have to go take a trip to my old campsite!

Yep it is right beside the treehouse, and a little beside a Mirelurk Queen spawn. Really pretty area.

I think the frienly ones are a gltich but are ment to be in the cave, i sad before ive seen friendly mirelurks in events aswell so i asumed it was a update glitch before i even knew of thid location

update: the easiest way to find this would be you using the underground mining elevator. It lets out yards from this door. It can be pick up Fort Atlas near the photo of a dog on the map. Run around there until the elevator pops up out of the ground.

Yep you’re referring to “the Motherlode” which has 4 access points throughout the map, as well as an access point from within “The Deep.” Coolest way to “fast travel” around Appalachia imo 😎
