When 5 minutes into FO4 VR I could phase my hand into the locked box and pick up the cryolator, I understood exactly how much effort went into those broken shitty ports. @Rayan aglm People are hyping it up too much. It's gonna be another cyberpunk, i can already see it. You're giving too much credit for a company that has consistently made mediore games in the past few years. I just don't see them suddenly giving a fuck and making a truly great elder scrolls when they've given such little fuck about any of their games recently. Saying there's things to improve from skyrim like the magic system doesn't mean they're gonna improve it, and i doubt they will.
@SolaPersona3 жыл бұрын
@@demetter7936 I can't see any reason that it won't be exactly like every other TES game in history. It's not going to be a Cyberpunk because Bethesda isn't CDProjekt and their problems are different ones. Its seems gamers have lost their long term memory, as it relates to Cyberpunk, since CDProjekt has NEVER launched a working fucking game. Not Witcher 3, definitely not Witcher 2, and the first game is laughable. Bethesda consistently develops games that are beautiful and complex worlds with engaging systems that are marred by questionable writing, unnecessary simplifications/streamlining, and over-ambition. We can't treat the likes of SkyrimVR/FO4VR/Fallout 76 as if they were games that Bethesda cared deeply about. Its sad, but you can point to this SAME behavior from Legends to the Oblivion era Mobile games, all the way back to the Cyrus spin-offs. It isn't new behavior, it isn't a trend change, and it doesn't mean TES6 is going to be a crashing trainwreck like CDProjekt publishes every single time.

Fun fact, when you're in an airplane flying through a cloud and can't see the ground, your body has no way to tell whether you're upside down or not. You can be completely upside down, banked to one side, in a steep climb or dive, and you can feel totally normal. Pilots use what's called an "artificial horizon" or "attitude indicator" which...indicates the attitude of the airplane in the air by showing an reference of the airplane against an artificial horizon, usually consisting of a blue backdrop on the top half and a brown backdrop on the bottom half, while a wrinkled line inhabits the center. Sometimes on a dark or hazy night they have to land the plane with no reference to the ground other than their instruments. Instrument flying is some crazy stuff.

So this is now the future(and as of commenting the past) but ambition projects like blade and sorcery for vr made by small teams are a perfect example of some small stuff that add to the game i would have loved to see in Skyrim vr. Muffling peoples mouths, enchanting short term affects on weapons by simply flame blasting a dagger, etc. small details in a medium where the player will actually notice them at one point or another makes vr a very cool toy. I love it.
@vladbat40503 жыл бұрын
I'll be honest, I got skyrim vr due to the mods and just modding skyrim like everyone else (plus it was on sale for like 24$). Stuff like the full visible body, Sky UI fixing the menu, a full physics mod for props and more, along with the bug fixing mods honestly make the game feel more like a proper VR port. Despite the VR issues of the lazy Skyrim port I ended up having a pretty enjoyable experience ngl. Speaking of ports, Minecraft Java's Vivecraft mod easily trumps the windows 10 VR port. Vivecraft looks better, runs better (thanks optifine), it can be modded with many many mods, and then shaders and resource packs if you just hate your computer and want it to cook some bacon on the cpu. Honestly though I can't believe the glory kills for Doom VFR, it could've been a ragdoll system of sorts where you get make your own unique glory kills, like yeah you can grab an imp to then tear apart like in normal doom. Being able to grab an imp by the legs, swing him around, and then watch as he's thrown into a wall to splat a big puddle of blood sounds infinity much more enjoyable then the lazy "telefrag" Even the doom 3 VR mod that people made based off some official stuff John Carmack worked on a few years ago is better than Doom VFR. Btw huge props to the lord and savior John Carmack for helping with VR (even if Oculus is owned by facebook)

Not gonna lie, I love Doom vfr. Being chased by the large hell knights in vr, or getting the berserk powerup and getting to "physically" punch the demons to explode them is utterly awesome. It makes me curious how a vr game made by ID software could turn out if they were able to go all in. Hugo Martin seems to love vr, and Quake could be a great game to experiment in vr due to Quake 1's more horror atmospheric approach. But until then, I'll always recommend the Serious Sam vr games over Doom vfr if someone wants some old school style shooting in vr.
@DJPeachCobbler4 жыл бұрын
I've actually been playing Serious Sam 3 VR after someone recommended it after watching this video. My frustration from Doom VFR mostly stems from the fact that they only did a few levels, and no new weapons (except for those grenade launchers). If it was just a full port of 2016, I would've been more cool with it. Also, I hated "telefragging", which was such a weak replacement for glory kills. Really, there's just so much wasted potential. Although seeing the demons up close was definitely great

Hell, if ID software was to make a new quake game, I would think that they should put it on VR and make it the best goddamn fast-paced VR shooter they can. The quake games always had a core component of incorporating a new technology and pushing the medium forward. In this case, the new tech would be VR and optimizing it in such a way that you can play really, really fast without getting motion sickness.

This isn't even /beginning/ to touch on how broken Skyrim VR is. Didn't touch on how the core scripts are being updated for SSE, so gradually more and more mods just /can't/ work for VR. How that's already an issue for the unofficial patches. How mods are blatantly not /supported/ for VR, by Bethesda's own words. Not to mention the, plethora of issues in the game. Because, that's a dead horse. Which you now can't carry and fling around. Just like you can't pick up a ton of random objects that still have physics.
