Iz's version gets me every time. My wife and I were stationed at Pearl Harbor for over 5 years and she loved this song. My Jennifer passed away almost 6 years ago to the day. My sister in law picked a nice rotation of appropriate songs at Jennifer's funeral to play before the service. She picked songs she thought embodied Jen. I didn't know what she picked but as I was walking around the various flower arrangements, I heard that ukulele play and absolutely lost it. This is a beautiful song by a beautiful soul and will always make me think of my beautiful wife. Thank you Beth.

My parents took our family to Hawaii when I was in 11th grade and we got to hear him in concert. After he performed he came out an mingled with the crowd. He was the nicest guy. The next year he died. When my parents told me, I cried. This song makes you feel at peace.

This song is what I listen to when I need to smile with a good cry. I am a recording engineer, and the lore of this recording is that it was recorded on a 2-channel DAT machine. One track for Uke and one track for Izzy. I don't think any fancy mics were used. The lesson being performance ALWAYS trumps gear.
