Iz's version gets me every time. My wife and I were stationed at Pearl Harbor for over 5 years and she loved this song. My Jennifer passed away almost 6 years ago to the day. My sister in law picked a nice rotation of appropriate songs at Jennifer's funeral to play before the service. She picked songs she thought embodied Jen. I didn't know what she picked but as I was walking around the various flower arrangements, I heard that ukulele play and absolutely lost it. This is a beautiful song by a beautiful soul and will always make me think of my beautiful wife. Thank you Beth.

This song is what I listen to when I need to smile with a good cry. I am a recording engineer, and the lore of this recording is that it was recorded on a 2-channel DAT machine. One track for Uke and one track for Izzy. I don't think any fancy mics were used. The lesson being performance ALWAYS trumps gear. This recording is P E R F E C T even though no $20K mics and preamps were used on it.

Several years ago I was sitting with 3 of my young grandchildren listening to music they liked. They requested a cartoon song that reminded me of this song from Iz. The next song I played was this very video. I did not know that Israel had died...when the funeral came up on the video I started crying. They never asked why. To this day (literally this day watching your video) tears come when the funeral is shown. What a beautiful song, voice, and person. Aloha, mahalo Iz!
