I've always been amazed at that picking trio, but had never seen them doing it live. It's even more amazing when you know the song after listening to it dozens of times and know exactly where every gesture should land. They nail 99% of the song. There was a time when they couldn't play it live, and that time is long gone.

that time long ago when they couldnt play it live was when they usually were so drunk from alcohol that they probably couldnt even play their most basic songs, now that they arent drinking as heavily on stage, they are playing their songs properly. that time i saw them live at a festival in 2011, they were playing quite well the first few songs but had started sounding sloppy towards the end of their 45 minute set, this live video is even tighter sounding than what they played first song back then at that festival i saw them at

Pretty much all of their "live" videos that they post on the dragonforce channel are indeed post edited so that there are little to no mistakes and everything sound correct. When they play live for real, it's either sloppy with a lot of mistakes or it's perfect because sometimes they use playback for guitar solos and vocals. There are videos of these playback fails. After all I don't blame them, these songs aren't humanly possible to play live perfectly.

I liked when you said they're really talented and practiced, because many years ago their performance were really bad, lots of mistakes and the vocalist barely being able to make a sound. Now they started being professional on the stage, and their show are awesome.

Yeah, after release of Inhuman Rampage and getting famous by adding Through the fire and flames to Guitar Hero, they got insanely better. Frankly, it was apparently enough to stop drink whole bottle of whisky per person during the show.. 😄 But yeah, it was big lottery back then, they had some amazing shows and lot of terrible ones. Now they're just great live.

More DragonForce please. There's so many awesome songs to check out . If you want to check when the original singer was around, react to the Valley of the Damned live version in Japan 2004, that performance is Amaaaaaazzzzing. @@gustavoaraujo6923 facts that's another great song. Valley of the damned era with that whole album his voice was immaculate. Still is with the other albums. Even though you can probably hear a bit of age to it lol especially with The ultra beatdown stuff but even then , I took those as a compliment as like a different sound for each one . Each studio one still sounds amazing in their own way. ZP is just one of those singers that I wish got more recognition in the music industry, his voice and tone wasn't talked about as much as it should have been talked about. @@thehunter7422 and about the voice change after albums, i think his voice became more mature, with its pros and cons. It's like Edu Falaschi (ex-Angra) voice in Rebirth and in Temple of Shadows. Absolutely loved this, DragonForce was the first band I ever saw live and I love them so much! The amazing thing to me about Marc Hudson is that he came into the band relatively late and just absolutely nailed their existing tone and style from their earlier albums with ZP Theart, while also bringing something entirely his own to their latest album. You're so right to call out the amount of practice that's gone into that performance. Just incredible!

Marc's voice is a little different, and I personally prefer ZP's voice on recordings from his time. However, it is undeniable that Marc deserves all possible credit for taking such good care of his voice, something that ZP did not do. That way, I see that fans today have a much better live experience with Marc. As well as on albums. He's already proven to be as good a vocalist as ZP, and a lot more dedicated. Nowadays if it were to choose between the two in the band, Marc deserves the spot without any doubt.

Hi Beth. How nice to see someone recognize the difficulty of what the artists are doing on stage, plus the preparation and the virtuosity it requires. I'm a big fan of Dragonforce, but the japanese band Galneryus took what I like about DF to the next level. If you want to see some more showmanship, virtuosity and talent. I recommend you to listen to some of their music, especially in the live shows, you can see the joy in their faces and gestures when they hit that perfect timing. If we talk about their singer, it is interesting to listen to him, because his voice is very clean and I would like to know a technical explanation of what he does. The pianist, guitarist, drummer and bassist is a constant non-stop shredding.

I really liked this reaction video, and your comments about Dragonforce made me smile so much ❤ Loved how you complimented their talent. I didn’t expect an emotional moment there with the trio playing harmonies 😂 Nice to see that you’re true in your reaction and very dedicated to what you listen to (because SO many on YT are fake) Interesting to hear you describe how he sings the high notes and described the “cheating but not cheating” thing, I hope people understand what you mean, I think you explained very well. I would say how he sings those high notes is not conventional, it’s his own way to just make it work!😂 and it’s very fitting since metal is nothing conventional! In metal everything is allowed if it sounds really fkn good! Look at Apocalyptica, how they play metal on their CELLOS will make some people feel agony because they’re playing the cello TOTALLY wrong and it’s abuse to an instrument 😂 .. sure.. but does it sound fkn amazing? YES! 😂 Gotta go creative to make the good stuff!🤘

My favourite metal band, or at least one of, definitely the band that got me into metal. Seen them live countless times and I loved the reaction! Check out - three hammers live by them! Or if you want a marathon, check out edge of the world - 11 minutes of awesomeness 👌

I'm really please with this breakdown... Welcome to the power metal genre.... I've been a fan since the GH Inhuman Rampage 2009.... Two singer and Marc takes care of his voice. Unlike ZP, he constantly drinks and smokes that ruins his singing voice.

10:05 What they are doing on the guitars is called "tapping." It's a really weird but effective technique to play a note without actually strumming or picking. It involves three separate movements of the fingers, but because of how human hands operate, they can be done extremely quickly. You "hammer on" with your left hand finger, which sets the string below the finger vibrating, then "pull off" slightly when you lift that finger to increase the vibration (almost like a pick, but without actually plucking the string). Think of it like pushing your finger down on the lit of an aluminum (or aluminium, as you are UK based :D ) can of pop or other fizzy beverage. You push down (hammer on) to get your finger under the pop tab, and then curl your finger slightly (pull off) to get under the tab and lift it in one motion. The third technique used is "tapping" your right hand (or higher pitched note) finger against the string near the fret you want the note to be, but you don't hold the note. Because the string is vibrating constantly from the left hand finger hammering on/pulling off, the "tapped" note sounds out for 1/16, sometimes 1/8 of a bar if it's a slower tap. The guys in Dragonforce are doing 1/16 bar notes here, but both of the lead guitarists can do 1/32 if they really push for it.

10:23 Vadim is 100% flexing because that keyboard part wasn't in the original studio version, sooo... also Sam is more than likely 6 beers in while playing this and will down at least 2 more while on stage, sooo... and Herman is ethnically Chinese, sooo... Yes, yes, and maybe. Lol

I am not typically this guy but have you seen the cover of Nothing Else Matters by Voiceplay a metallica accapella cover that surprisingly does not fail to capture the original while still showcasing all that makes the group so special
