Also, couldn't have said it any better: "It was great fun". These guys get a lot of flack from the metal community because their music can get kind of same-y, but in all honesty, I love 'em because they're just so much fun. You're also right about the guitar. It's definitely easier to play that fast when you're not tensed up, and it's often about letting go of that stress.

Either the original with ZP or a song since Marc. Both got their strengths and weaknesses. As far as I agree, that Marc just can't replicate the old songs as well as ZP did, ZP won't be able to do the same to the newer songs. I really hope she'll do either Edge of the World (god damn Marc proved there that he has talent and used his potential very great) or a ZP version. The choice she took was just really unfortunate..

@@casperk7310 she's a vocal coach, she probably just doesn't care that much about the instruments. She cares about the emotion the instruments create and the show they give, but the actual technicality of playing it is not her field. Same argument again: there are thousands of reaction channels that comment on the riffs, you shouldn't expect it here. Nobody's here for that reaction too. You're absolutely right about relaxing with guitar playing. I've been playing for 10 years now; if you tense up you can maybe hold an awkward note, but you're sacrificing a lot of other things, and 90% of what is going on will usually be much better off with relaxed, loose muscles. Plus if you tighten up too much for too long you run the risk of pulling muscles, straining tendons and such; I once had a finger lock up mid-practice the night before a gig; it wasn't even a remotely difficult song but my part required me to hold a very similar chord shape for minutes on end. I was fine after though. It's interesting to see these guys (both vocals and guitarists) opting for variations from the 'studio' version; some of these changes I would guess are stylistic, or simply because they want to mix things up a bit for their own sake, but there are a few changes that I can imagine are more practical; certain runs, fills, note placements and flares must be really awkward to pull off consistently live. These guys are really on point though, they killed it. I'd love to see you react to Marcus King's voice, he's a blues guitarist/vocalist and he has loads of great material on youtube. I feel like if I say too much I'll spoil it, but his voice is just awesome. There's a song "Rita Is Gone" with some nice videos.

Years ago I heard an interview of Def Leppard on a local station, and their lead singer made a point that (most) British rock vocalists sing with an American accent. He made an example by singing the first line of "Pour Some Sugar On Me" with a proper British accent, and described it as "Austin Powers on Prozac".
