@@johnarndt1501 telling people she has mental problems isn't helpful nor is it the correct phrasing and you say its the truth and i say in my almost 28 years with mental health issues that there's a right way of telling the truth and the rght way and so all i am saying is that we already deal with the stigma associated with mental health/illness so let's not use terminology like mental problems because that doesn't help anyone.

The first instinct I had when I watched that night was that Seal instinctively identified with Karise - he recognised something he has in common with her and knew that he was the right judge for her. It’s one of the most palpable emotions I’ve ever seen on “The Voice”. He nurtured her all the way and took her to victory! This was a well deserved win and her recent KZbin performances show that she has evolved into a lovely young lady.

So happy to find out you reacted to Karise Eden! I had suggested this some time ago. Karise Eden is the best female vocalist ever imo, she's a mixture of Janis Joplin and Amy Winehouse, she's got so much soul and power but also such a clear voice as in "Stay with me, baby", I honestly can't think of a better singer.

I watched this when it happened and I'm just as gob-smacked now as I was then. 20 years on and a roller-coaster for her, she's built a greater life for herself and now says she's doing one more round then calling it quits. I'm glad she's choosing for herself, and wish her all the best. We lose out, however, we can be grateful for all she has done. My fave video of her on YT (besides this audition) is "You Won't Let Me." Knock your socks off and have a listen. 🙃

Beth, I’m sure you’d like to see and hear how Karise has blossomed and developed since this performance. There’s a more recent YT video of her and several other young Australian singers singing Adele’s song “Easy On Me”. She has gravitas and confidence and looks so beautiful. Karise also harmonises well here with Chris Sebastian, (Guy’s younger brother). You may not have heard of some of the others but they’re listed in the heading in the same order that they appear.
