Now I see why Gary is ready to throw in the towel. Apparently, he feels fed up with the marriage. Probably feels like he has no more control over his household. Flipping houses isn't a bad thing but just because you put all of this work into the house doesn't mean it's going to turn over into a profit. MORE IMPORTANTLY, you're spending a heck of a lot of money that is not necessarily yours. This is family money. I'd be pissed off if I find out that $10,000 is missing out of our bank account and nobody told me in advance.

mahoganyc miles well I suppose one might look at it that way. I suppose I still believe that when it comes to husband et wife the essence is they should share. Now, she wasn't as successful before, so she didn't mention it; but now that she's successfully done 3 homes i don't think he should be upset. She deserves to have a hobby other than being his wife. It's a major problem if the wife is making extremely LARGE financial transactions with the money the husband is making, without his knowledge. She could send the whole family to the poor house overnight if she makes a mistake. It's no different than if the husband takes the family savings to the poker tables at Las Vegas without the wife knowing anything about it. Everything is gravy... as long as you are winning... but if he lost it all on a few consecutive 'bad hands'... I'd bet she would file for divorce in a heartbeat. So it works both ways. Marriage is not one-sided... where the wife has the luxury of 'gambling' with the family finances, without any type of 'oversight'. She's not telling jokes on stage... but she wants to keep the 'profits' of these real estate deals ... meanwhile the husband is the 'bread winner' who must assume any & all of her 'losses', if/when things go south. That's a recipe for disaster. The 'intent' is done out of love...but the 'reality' is a different story if it falls apart. And by 'reality' what I mean is...is the wife gonna pick up a 2nd job to help repay any debts they incur from a bad real estate deal gone sour? If the answer is 'no'... and she's not willing to 'work her tail to the bone'... by working as many jobs as needed... then she NEEDS to be honest & tell her husband (upfront) about her spending habits. Give him 'the opportunity' to decide if he WANTS to go along with it, or not... Because if things go wrong.... only HE will be left 'holding the bag of debt'.
