Let’s remember, Whitney had a hot and cold relationship with the Soul Train Awards… The Bodyguard Era took her in higher places than before, but something about her past Soul Train Awards experience still lingered a little bit. This is almost 30 years ago, so "built bodies" weren't as common (though FYI Whitney did have breast implants), and twerking wasn't necessarily mainstream yet (but it was definitely happening). Also, while I agree the crowd is meh, many of them are fellow artists/industry people who were more than likely all glammed up and likely didn't want to appear on TV looking disheveled because they were dancing up and down to Whitney's performance

There Will never be any one like you and we don't need any hologram stage performances like her sister-in-law Pat is trying to still live through Whitney's Houston life her life and death would never go unnoticed and the people who did it and will pay for it either here or there Pat Houston let her rest in peace stop trying to make money off of her image it was too many people that was close to Whitney her daughter her daughter's step brother husband that passed away and the only person that knows so much about it or had a hand in it is still trying to live through her legacy through her name let her rest in peace the only one that has a loud voice right now and that's trying to live Whitney Houston's legacy is her sister-in-law Pat Houston stop trying to live Whitney Houston's life after her death

Speechless. Started watching this with joy and jubilation! Then, quickly turned to sadness and despair. I know. I know. I mean but seriously, it hurts my soul to look at what she was here vs. 15 years later. It is like the life was sucked out of her from so many outlets. I am broken. Keep in mind this performance is AFTER giving birth in 1993! What a woman!
