I'm sorry but circular breathing, while singing, it's physically impossible. Air can only go through your air pipe in one direction or the other. You cannot have colliding columns of air through a single tube! We singers who want to improve our technique should be able to identify magical thinking. And it's our responsibility to stop myths of this kind. Best wishes!

@aaronnewman7573
@aaronnewman7573 3 жыл бұрын
she’s a stellar, masterclass vocalist just like jazmine and brandy (like the other person said) but even though she knows how to run (pretty good at it too), she’s not a NATURAL runner like jazmine and brandy. belting, holding long notes, growling/squalling, ad libbing (with some SLOW runs and jazzy notes in there), hitting mid-high belts are more her thing. brandy and jazmine are definitely riffing and running up and down the scale. not saying they all can’t do all of the above because they can, bc they’re just that good, but it’s really about where your natural strengths lie

@@aaronnewman7573 you hit the nail on the head 💯 idk if Brandy is a natural runner tho. Kinda feel like she grew into it, her runs weren't as clean or long yrs ago....all 3 are amazeballs!

@aaronnewman7573 3 жыл бұрын
@@emrich6876 but if u look at videos of her at a young age, or even on moesha, her runs were always clean. i think the reason they’d be a little iffy on stage was because she has a very soft voice and she was learning how to control it, + nerves. all 3 sure are amazing though

Yolanda was not demonstrating circular breathing. It's impossible for singers to breathe circularly. Singer's can't take air into the lungs and produce sound at the same time. Circular breathing is about storing air in the mouth while still taking some in from the nose. It's a technique that requires a wind instrument. Horn players don't need air to pass though the larynx to produce sound the way singers do.
