How do these blocks only last "UP TO 10 YEARS"? Is it because there is no rebar placed in them, or because they are not hydrated during curing? I'd love to build a perimeter fence with these but all that work and expense and it only lasts 10 years? Why?
@BeeHiverson9 ай бұрын
.... the mold is rated for 10 year of daily use.... the block of concrete will last as long as rocks do.
@TheHexagonCZServer9 ай бұрын
@@BeeHiverson It doesn’t say the “mold” is rated for 10 years. It says the BLOCKS are rated at 10 years. …And look at any crumbling concrete structure and you will see that concrete does NOT last as long as stone. Even Roman self healing concrete is not ageless like rock. Concrete is not stone.

@@TheAnnoyingBoss Ok, well, the pyramids seem to be doing pretty well. I was asking why they say the BLOCKS, (not the forms), will only last 10 years. It’s a genuine question. Is it because there is no rebar or reinforcement in them?

I confess I don't get it. What can be done with those heavy blocks? Too heavy to build a wall as for a residential building. And I see that a vibrator is used which only reduces the amount of air in the cement. The opposite is what you want, more air and less dense cement. Or so I think. Having a bigger stackable block is fine, but why not have cavities of air for insulation and weight reduction? I don't see the benefit of such heavy blocks for what purpose? A very large foundation would be needed to carry such weight.
@Betonblock Жыл бұрын
The are many applications for which you need heavy blocks, e.g. retaining walls. storage bins, industrial buildings. Watch some of our videos here on KZbin or visit our gallery on: betonblock.com/us/gallery You will see many application for which heavy concrete blocks are a perfect fit!

where's the reinforcement? a building made of such blocks will have significantly less strength, blocks will crack because of temperature variations.
@Betonblock7 жыл бұрын
hi Yurij, the blocks have an avarage weight of 2500 KG and they are locked up in each other. so for most retaining walls or industrial purposes there aint no problems. but engineerd buildings with higher expectations are not produced with waste concrete all the time and sometimes have reinforcement in them

Seems cheap insurance to throw rebar in there and never have to worry about use and re-use to different purpsoes
