Yup...I believe this guy is on to something big. When the 'changeover' happens, this vehicle and the concept will stand out.

In my opinion, this version is even more interesting than the "big" BeTRITON. It is much simpler, and also as a boat it is propelled by pedal power, so it still counts as a human-powered boat - which means that it can still go on lakes where it is forbidden to use a motor boat. We have quite some here in Germany. It should also be possible to buy this readily assembled in the future, it would be a fine "lite" version of the BeTRITON concept.

Quite a shock, the second prototype. It's nothing anyone would expect looking at the first version, which was only expected to be... improved. No matter how I look at it, it's just a boat with wheels - and it would look like that wherever this version would get. Perhaps, that would be cool in some parts of the world - with canals and lakes, and such - when going on holiday at the weekend. But for "everyday mobility"... If you aim your boat to be bought by people who want a boat which has wheels, then one can only hope there will be lots such people to consider it. The first one is for those who want a street vehicle which would be great for adventures as well. Make it light, make it durable, make it lockable, make it flexible - easily attachable to an already existing bicycle - and it can win lots of people over. The input you got from the exhibition visitors would be great to know!

The diy kit prototype ist amazing. A cabin velomobile that looks like a boat and can be used like a boat would fit the larger bike lanes of Hamburg so well. I'd love to find out what the worldwide community does to the kit. I'd have the back seat removed and would have small benches all around the inside rear with seating belts to ride 2, 3 or 4 kids to pre-school and then carry on to the office. With storage inside those benches, so the groceries fit on work days and the camping gear fits on the weekend. Others will fit a mast and sail to the boat for sure. And some will certainly pimp their diy kit with tech or design. Please hurry with getting the diy kit containing boat hull, bicycle and cabin to the market and leave the iterations to that kit to the individual users.

Theoretically this could be the ideal travelling vehicle for me, but there are two catches. The first one is the bad bike infrastructure in Germany. Like other velomobiles this would need to use the road, which is indeed legal even if there are mandatory bike paths because an amendment to the traffic law explicitly states that "special bikes" aren't to be frowned upon when they don't use a bike path which the rider considers unusable. However many car drivers don't know this amendment, don't want it to be true or simply don't care and think it's the law of the strongest what counts in traffic - they pay taxes for their cars at least (which are not special-purpose but they don't care about that as well...) so they don't want slow, big vehicles clog "their" streets. The other one is the size. If on a camp site, you can't really do long bike tours from there because you must return when the gate for the cars is still open, which usually closes around 8pm or 9pm. With an ordinary bike you can push it through the small path for people on foot, and a regular recumbent can be ridden or pushed underneath the barrier. But I don't want to complain too much. This is one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time, even cooler than the other velomobiles, as, apart from the speed the others offer, it has all the advantages of a velomobile - the weather protection and comfortable riding - and it offers a means to comfortably sleep a night or two. The "boat" feature is more a gimmick in this version here but if that vehicle made sense for me, I would go on the lake once or twice with it.

Have you been reading my comments??? I don't care if you steal my ideas & use them lol... I love what you're doing & hope you succeed. I think the 1st bike/boat build was really cool & looks good. But I think this new bike/boat build is on it's way towards awesomeness. A mini houseboat/mini motor-home or velomobile/boat . I know people in your region still ride bikes in the rain & snow. But if given the choice, I'd think the huge majority of people everywhere would much rather be in the boat/bike enclosure to keep the rain, cold & snow off them. I didn't mean to sound harsh before but felt with the 1st build. A person would be better off just towing a boat with an e-bike & leaving the boat at home when they're not using it. Some decent aerodynamics could help maybe offset pulling the extra weight. I know aerodynamics aren't as important at lower speeds VS a faster velomobile... Motorcycles have horrible aerodynamics & the bike becomes 30% more fuel efficient just by the rider tucking down out of the wind. Some suspension even if it's cheap rear mountain bike shocks on each wheel would be nice. I know on e-bikes even having cheap shocks is still way better than no shocks. If the boat isn't able to go that fast due to 250w ebike limit restrictions there. I can understand how suspension wouldn't be needed. Here in USA you can have 750w but get away with more watts if you don't ride dangerously. Rain-x sells water repellent for plastic like motorcycle visors, so you could maybe do away with the wiper. My wipers broke on my truck & rain-x worked good enough, I could drive 75 mph without wipers in heavy rain. The larger roof area means more room for solar panels, with a couple extra slide out solar panels. You'd almost never need to plug in to recharge the battery. They'd also come in very handy for camping. Being able to drive the bike/boat directly in & out of the water without having to stop, get out, get wet to make lots of adjustments would be a HUGE plus. I live along the Mississippi River in USA, I could ride to the larger city up stream from me. Then use the boat to float back down stream/down river home. If you get bored check out the Raht Racer it's a very fast velomobile like vehicle that uses little power. If there was a way to make a fast Raht racer type vehicle that could also be used a boat.

I like this design, but $6k before shipping or taxes is pretty steep for a quirky DIY project. But, dang, my commute would be so much more fun.
