💥 I think the tensioning nut is loose and is causing that pulley to move up and rub the guard. Tighten that lock nut that above and behind that pulley I believe is where it located. I love my flail mower and you’re right, how perfect for a tree farm. Fast efficient, leaves a great cut and gets into tight places. 😁👍 Nice video! *Keep on tractoring!*

I will have to look into that.

That mower is a prefect fit for the tree farm. The thing I like most about my 1025R is the getting in tight spots and the cost of attachments is reasonable.

It really is. It will definitely stay in the toolbox

Those covers are supposed to have two thin posts welded to the inside and sticking out from the edge. You will see two holes on the mower that they fit onto. The cover will be at an angle with the top slightly forward. The posts keep everything from rubbing. They have broken off, but you will probably still be able to see where they should be.

I have similar model (EFGC-125cm branded by KDL Agri), and there should be 2 little pass-through hooks on each side of the guard, which are fixing the guard in place. Those are most likely missing from yours.

I know this a long while after you posted. Passing along info I was told , use the flail mower only when it is properly balanced with all the hammers or knives in place . I did notice how the two that were missing were opposite from one another and that will help with it being balanced but a out of wack / unbalanced rotor will potentially cause problem . Nice machine

It does a lot better when it is balanced, that is for sure. Sometimes I just try to power through, especially if I'm not close to the garage.

Upper pulley. Driveshaft vibration. Tighten top pulley or bend out shroud if lazy haha

You need to replace the missing hammer blades, asap. That is probably what’s causing your belt wear. The blades and barrel are “ spin balanced” for optimal performance. Flail mowers are excellent farm tools. You just need to know which end of the hammer to use…imho

I do, all the time. I go through a fair amount of them. Last year I had the Y blades on. They don't break as much, but don't do as well on the rougher stuff.

Maybe because it only has one bolt holding the cover on in the middle. I think it should have a minimum of two. The cover is able to pivot back and forth when bolt loosens up.

I think you're right. The little pin petons that it has to "lock" it in place just don't hold up.

Nice flail demo. Shows how practical and helpful they are for anyone with a lot of land. Which blade type is your go-to, y or hammer?
@QuinnsTreeFarm2 жыл бұрын
I have hammers on this one. I might have to try Y blades.

I’m looking at buying one of these - how does it go on longer grass?

Not great. That's the trade off I think
