Interviewed by David Hartman on April 7th, 1981, just as "Bette Davis Eyes" was making its way to the #1 position on the Billboard chart, where it would spend nine weeks before winning Grammys for "Record of the Year" and "Song of the Year" and become the biggest hit of 1981.
Thank you to the eBay seller/Bette Davis fan who ten years ago provided my father with rare Bette Davis interviews that became my best Christmas gift of 1999.
In commemoration of twenty years since the passing of America's finest screen actor and one of our greatest stars and human beings.
WE LOVE YOU MISS DAVIS!!!!!!!!!

I love all these interviews she did in the last ten years of her life. No pretense, no hiding her age. Just straight truth about the business of working in the Hollywood studio system. What a dame !!

If you are a Bette Davis fan, then look for the dean martin celebrity roast. They roast bette and is very funny. She had a delicious sense of humor and the two ladies who did their impressions of Bette, is priceless as well as spot on!

I wonder what she would think of the film industry today, if she was still alive

This is quite an interview. She just says I've been alone 20 years and that's ok; I made mistakes including marrying to marry too early and they were my fault. The greatest love of my life has been my work. I envy people who had great lifelong relationships she says, but you can't have everything. "I had almost everything. And thats good enough." How many people have the courage to say that on national TV?

I have "Bette Davis: A Personal Biography ~The Girl Who Walked Home Alone." by Charlotte Chandler. I thought it was a good one. I love Bette, she is one of my favorite actresses of all time.

She's talking kinda a contradictory. Just listen, one answer she hated work, another she loved it....She is 1 of the best of all time though, RIP Bette Davis!

Davis said she loved the performance part of filmmaking, and that she couldn't say she'd “had fun” at what was her work, her job. It all seems to be stemming from her strict New England Victorian upbringing.
