Very good review! I think that I will keep my original GM and upgrade when the GM III is released in a few years from now. The price to upgrade from GM to GM II is not justifiable for me since I mainly take photos. The autofocus speed is not crucial for me. Vignetting, barrel and pincushion distortion and chromatic aberration can be automatically corrected in Sony's latest Imaging Edge software.

Well done, very detailed review is great, I have a Sony Alpha Seven Mark 4 camera, with a 50 x 18 lens, I want my next lens to be the Sony 85 or 70200, I don't know which one to get.

Could you possibly compare the sharpness with a couple GM primes to see what the new 70-200mm MK2 is capable of when being compared to primes and how much they differ? 24-35-50-85 etc
