These guys need to understand that Jimmy's whole rant at the end is him finally venting his grief for Chuck's death. He just can't accept that someone like Howard, someone who put the weight of Chuck's suicide on his own shoulder, is somehow finding a way to be happy and successful, while all the time ignoring Chuck's death has lead Jimmy to just keep slipping further.

Howard helped Chuck screw Jimmy over at every turn.... In fact Chuck created Jimmy. No matter what Jimmy did Chuck would never approve of anything that Jimmy did. Jimmy could never live up his own unreasonable expectations. Chuck was jealous of Jimmy b/c mom loved Jimmy best. That is why he never wanted Jimmy out of the mail room Yes.... I also loved Jimmy's rant at Howard and I could completely see where he was coming from. But since these "normies" love white snobs they cannot see it.

After this episode aired, I thought Odenkirk had the Best Actor - Drama Emmy nomination LOCKED... the amount of range in this episode... from the quiet, tender moments with Kim to the tour-de-force monologue he delivers to Howard in the final scene. Sadly, the Emmys decided to snub Odenkirk. Its insane. This show does not get the respect it deserves. It is hands-down, without a doubt, the best show on TV right now.

@@williamroper5422 I agree with you it's a great show and it winning was acceptable. BUT ( and a very big BUT) then main reason I think that Emmy voters haven't seen BCS is that it was beat out in the the last seasons by GoT s7 and S8 which we know was SHIT!! Also, this season was dominated by Odenkirk, Rhea Seehorn and Tony Dalton and were favourites to be nominated. But, Giancarlo Esposito gets nominated when he had not much to do this season?!?! Either the Emmys are woke or they put a safe bet on him that he was great in BrBa so he must've been great here too. Also, can you imagine a show AS GREAT AS BETTER CALL SAUL(being called as the best show on TV right now by many, almost on par with BrBa, holding a higher RT score than any noms of 97%), has still not won a single Emmy despite being consistently nominated!!! Imagine those... Seehorn, Michael Mckean were never nominated despite giving a nerve chilling performance and Jonathan Banks not winning for S1 ep Five O when he CLEARLY gave better performances the Dinklage (who peaked at S4 and was finished after that) . Clearly the Academy has not seen the show and only nominate it for Best Drama after hearing the buzz about it from critics. Actually, I consider the SAG awards to be much more accurate than the Emmys

Jimmy blames Howard for Chuck's death and I understand why. Every time Chuck did something terrible, Jimmy still looked after him. Even when he stopped going to bring food etc for Chuck, he made sure Howard did instead. He always made sure his brother was ok even when Chuck treated him like shit. As soon as Chuck crossed Howard once (ONCE!), Howard decided to cut him adrift and made sure he didn't practice law anymore. He didn't protect chuck, he got rid of him. Jimmy resents that. And for Howard to now offer him a job after years of not standing up for Jimmy and hiring him, that's the cherry on the icing on the cake. Howard is a good guy, but he let Jimmy down and Jimmy can't (and shouldn't have to) forget that.
@dog-eared69914 жыл бұрын
Look at Jimmy's face when he says that to Howard, he's not angry he's smiling. He doesn't blame Howard, he thinks he can hurt him by saying that because of how Howard was handling Chuck's death throughout season 4. But Howard has come to peace with himself and it has no effect, that's why Jimmy immediately goes into "I'm so far beyond you!" mode.
@socialanxietv1404 жыл бұрын
@Chair of Truth I agree. Was more explaining why rather than excusing the methods.
@arafat98284 жыл бұрын
Actually no I don't think so. Inside Jimmy knows that he is the most responsible for Chuck death but he never accepted it. Howard on the other hand blamed himself initially and Jimmy went with it(if you remember) cuz then it helped him get rid of his guilt (a bit). Then when he saw that Howard had recovered to become successful again he gets jealous that he got over his death so quickly while Jimmy was still suffering (on the inside. If you check closely, you'll see that multiple times during S4 Jimmy references that he'll save someone from burning in a fire showing he feels guilty) That's why when Howard offered him the job he got angry cuz he just couldn't stand him being successful and pitying him. Also, Jimmy is a very good actor as he's good in hiding his emotions

Howard is the one person that can see that Jimmy is putting up a facade as "Saul Goodman". He knows that he never has got over Chuck's death, especially since Jimmy feels responsible for it. So in response Jimmy lashes out on Howard because he can see the truth. Hence why you see the shot of Jimmy staring at the family with remorse, while the other half of his face is mirrored (the bad side). At the moment, Jimmy still has a sliver of decency and heart in him...but it's slowly but surely fading away, just like the ending shot in this episode.

They keep talking during important, funny and many other special moments. Like during Lalo's court scene, "MOLD?!? FJNFUWIDBQ MOLD!!!" Stop being extra about mold and listeb to the court case. So ridiculous

The next episode is not only the best of the season or even best in the series... it's the best in the entire Gilliganverse.

Is the editor of this show like 5? He only likes Kevin and Howard? I don't understand people who experience stories by the lens of who would be your friends in real life, instead of just well written interesting characters.

I 100% agree! the beauty of this show is in its complexly written characters and even Kevin and Howard are flawed. sure, according to the law they are what some might call "perfect" but morally, they are aren't perfect people. Howard allowed Jimmy to believe that he wasn't a good enough lawyer for all those years when really, he was just keeping him out of HHM because Chuck told him to. Kevin Wachtell was willing to kick an old man out of his home just so he could build another bank branch, when he had a perfectly good plot of land if he had just waited a few weeks. the two characters I just described are both flawed but are two of the more boring characters on the show and even they are not two dimensional. I think that if anyone is looking for the "good guy" or "bad guy" in this show, they won't find it.

@@6Rock6God6 I mean, those people never owned the land they lived on. Kim says in an earlier episode that they all had leases which stipulated that they could be bought out at any time. So if you sign a contract which explicitly says that you may compelled to leave at any time in exchange for monetary compensation, then you should know what you've gotten yourself into. No one forced those people to go live on that land. They signed those leases willingly.
