The black and white scenes are what happened after Breaking Bad. Saul is on the run at this point in time. The rest of the show is before the events of Breaking Bad.

I not only live in Abq, I live next door to Saul's Omaha apartment building. Not only do I live next door to his Omaha apartment building, you can see my balcony at 4:04 on the left edge of the screen!!! I moved in a year after they filmed this, but I did watch them film three scenes for season 5.

This is such an amazing show. Seeing his journey from Jimmy McGill to Saul Goodman is quite a ride. I also love the black and white scenes shown in the beginning of the season to show his life after Breaking Bad, as he told Walter in their last conversation that if he’s lucky, he’d be managing a Cinnabon in Omaha 6 months after he disappeared. The first season is a touch on the slow side, but it is so worth it! Especially since you two can get through it fairly quick and don't have to wait for new seasons like we did.

This show has some of the best writing and the best storyline of any TV series. I liked it as much or more than breaking bad. Genius plot lines and writing!!!! You guys definitely are on the right track with your theories. Just watch it unfold. 👍👍👍

So glad you guys started watching Better Call Saul. One of the greatest prequel (And occasion sequel) series of all time. Season 1 is a bit of a slow burn, but the later seasons is what truly make the BSC great. 👍

Fun fact: I lived in Cicero IL, when the Capone hotel was still up. It was a corrupt town run by the mob, there were hookers and strip clubs everywhere. Western electric was big business and everyone in town practically worked there. It was a wild place for a kid. I grew up there til I moved to the burbs. If you've seen the movie Wayne's world, Scatchells hot dog stand has been in Cicero since the 70s.

This is great for me. BCS captivated me unlike any other TV show. It's a slower show than BB, but ultimately the psychology of the characters is much more intriguing. This show also requires a fair amount of homework to understand how it weaves into the Breaking Bad universe.

Wouldn't it be more fun to see their real surprise when that happened? Instead they now know what to expect going forward. Which was evident when said episode came up. The fact Saul actually calls out Lalo and Nacho by name.... in B.B. when Jesse and Walt "kidnap" Saul to threaten him into getting Badger off, Saul asking/ screaming "didn't Lalo send you ? Ignacio (nacho) ?".... I was stunned when I re-watched B.B. after B.C.S. and heard that !!
