It's a sad situation, because Cliff is actually a great guy and he really tried to give Jimmy a chance, it just wasn't for him.

I love this show. Can’t believe the Breaking Bad creators struck gold twice. It’s really rare, like The Godfather and The Godfather II. Also Jimmy and Kim have amazing chemistry.

Important to note that in a previous episode Chuck told Kim that Jimmy stole thousands from the store and caused it to go out of business, the reality was that although Jimmy stole some, he was not responsible for the entire amount that Chuck thought

The visuals are great if you really think. Jimmy didn’t wanna be with Cliff and his firm. Now go back last few episodes of him trying to put his cup in the cup holder of a car from that firm and it wouldn’t fit. Great metaphor.

I think Tuco has a soft spot for the Elderly given how he ended up basically caring for the elders in his family north of the border. So it's probably that which was giving him a little restraint with Mike.

I thought that young Jimmy took the $4 so his father wouldn’t see it and know he was scammed.
@MontgomeryWenis Жыл бұрын
Indeed. He took advantage of the situation his dad put himself in. Chuck never noticed their dad's weakness because he was too focused on Jimmy taking advantage of the scams people played on their dad. So in his eyes, it looked like it was purely Jimmy robbing the store blind.

A long time ago I landed a job with a huge company (and it still is..LockheedMartin) that paid double what I'd ever made. And with full benefits. But my first 8 hrs felt like 20. I thought I'd die from monotonous work. I never went back. It was SO not me. All these years and I don't regret that. Coz nothing is worth hating what you spend 2/3s of your life doing. Uh uh. Not me. I should say tho, my other career back then I truly loved. No future in it, but I loved going to work every day. A must have for me. No wonder I aged into a hippy. 😂

Jimmy's antics humiliated HHM for recommending him. He also technically stole the bonus money. He put Davis and Mayne at legal risk by not doing everything properly. Chuck was right not to hire him. i don't think he held him back either. he encouraged him to work at public defenders office to get experience. that's a solid way to gain experience and recognition.
@rageus4731 Жыл бұрын
At that might be partially by the design of Jimmy. He has to have known this would negatively affect HHM

I love the Inflatable montage. Cliff is a nice guy and a decent boss, but Jimmy just isn't someone who can conform to the rules. Young Jimmy was angry with dad for dismissing his concerns. I think he felt if dad is going to give away money, then it is better in his pockets rather than some outside scammer. Chuck 100% blames Jimmy for the missing money that failed their dad's business. It seems more accurate the money loss was a combination of Jimmy stealing and scammers scamming.

The beginning is actually to show you that it wasn't actually Jimmy stealing from their father like Chuck said. Their dad was a good person and genuinely wanted to help people, who knew they could take advantage of him. Jimmy was merely taking advantage of those people. If you notice, he didn't actually steal anything from the register. He only took the money the conman paid him for the cigarettes, which his father didn't know existed because he was off trying to help the guy when he bought them. Chuck never paid attention to their father's kindness because he was too focused on Jimmy's advantageousness. So in his eyes, it looked like it really was Jimmy who was robbing their dad.
@graememclaren2635 Жыл бұрын
To be fair, we don't know for sure that he didn't take anything over the years. It's hard to say for sure, and I wouldn't make assumptions. I obviously don't think it was all Jimmy, though.
@MontgomeryWenis Жыл бұрын
@@graememclaren2635 I think this flashback was supposed to illustrate that it wasn't _all_ Jimmy, but it's where Jimmy learned to be the kind of advantageous that Chuck couldn't stand. The fact that we don't see Chuck in it I think eludes to the idea he wasn't fully aware of the situation either, since he too was still a kid. Shows off how, not misguided, but obsessed he was with Jimmy being the problem in his parents' lives and how that feeling has grown deep roots and made itself fundamental to Chuck's identity. It's why he gets sicker anytime Jimmy pulls a con.

I would argue that Jimmy’s dad is a complete fool rather than a genuinely nice guy. Or maybe just both, but he’s most definitely a fool first and foremost.

Definitely very, _very_ naive. But so was Chuck, who never noticed their dad's foolishness because he only saw Jimmy taking advantage of the scams, but not the scammers in the first place.

Even though jimmy stole from his dad as a kid, I think he didn’t prepare for the long term consequences. But now that jimmy stole from his dad for so long since a kid, he just accepted the consequences. The dad is also responsible for Jimmy’s downfall. He didn’t question Jimmy because he was a kid and the youngest of the family. Saul definitely could’ve made it without breaking bad, but we see throughout breaking bad, he cares about making money.
