Thank you for your efforts! I have also tried the various amazon antennas, and I received the highest data rate speeds with the flat paddle version. In fact, I actually used both antennas that came in the pack, a cable splitter, and a piece of metal channel to mount both antennas about 8’ above the camera. Thank you for this video. I purchased two "Antenna 2" to try to help two Reolink Go PT's that were not getting good signal and had low kbps and intermittent service. My cameras are mounted on different trees. I lifted the Antenna 2 as high as I could (standing in the back of my truck and using your broomstick technique 🙂) and hung them over a branch in each tree. Well I've been here since 4am, now 7:30 watching your camera videos again, trying to gain as much knowledge as possible before I by 1 last security camera. I like a lot about this camera. One question. Have they done anything about the ghosting at night in videos? I've looked for an updated video on the Keen Ranger but don't see one. Maybe it's time for you to do an update. Thanks for putting all your knowledge out there for us who are limited, lol.

That is a tough question. I definitely prefer the PT’s because of their flexibility in pan and tilting and I find they get better signal in marginal signal areas. @@HuntingFarmerOfficial I think the live view throttling happens after a certain amount of time because the freezes last 10-15 hours before everything goes back to normal. It is a good idea to power unit off. I’m not familiar with the camera system but I’ve worked RF and communications for +40yrs. A transmitter which that camera system has needs a frequency matched antenna attached or you will get high reflected (swr) back into system. The output amplifier will fail rather quickly if repeatedly done. Result no output…

I been doing work in the RF industry since 2005 and @muhammadsteinberg is correct on proper frequency. Also a lot of antenna makers tell you a set DBM but they are not telling you the loss of DBM the cabling, or give you a true number. The cabling is not just cabling SMA cable has a fair amount of DBM loss this goes for all communication cables. Many times this will reflect in the price of good antennas.

What SIM card are you using in the Reolink’s?
@Bobb1julie2 жыл бұрын
Is the following the camera that you have.. Outdoor Security Camera System Pan Tilt 3G/4G LTE Solar Battery Powered Camera, Starlight Night Vision, 2-Way Audio, PIR Motion Detection, No WiFi, No Wires, Reolink Go PT with Solar Panel-US Version… It takes videos only and not stills? Is it 4 mega pixels ? Thank you
@HuntingFarmerOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that looks like the one. The Reolink cameras only take video. 👍

On the Reo link . There has to be a good way of camouflaging this camera at $300+.. One might be able to cover it with a adhesive type skin but there is too much curvature to deal with..I’m thinking masking off the most vulnerable places and prime it ,, the use 3 colors of krylon.. I think I’m leaning towards another brand..I like stills you like 👍 videos

Just broke my antenna. Which one should I order?
@HuntingFarmerOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I prefer the magnetic base (if that’s beneficial to you) or the other extension option I have listed. The screw on one works but needs modified

Thanks, I’ll need to tap it bubble wrap when travelling

Great review and testing of those products. I did enjoy watch the video but it is not something we could use as our signal is horrible even on a good day. We have a party if we get 3G 😀

My Reolink does not connect, what is the problem?
@HuntingFarmerOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Is this the first time you’re trying to connect (new camera)? Which SIM card do you have in the Reolink?

Hopefully someone from the UK will chime in. I’m assuming it’s something on the cellular provider end??

The lag might be the service to your phone
@HuntingFarmerOfficial Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and for your suggestion. You’re right, your phone service can effect app performance 👍
@archmasterone2 жыл бұрын
Having your hand or body anywhere near the antenna will effect the performance. Also the coax cable must not be wound or coiled up. Antennas were my profession prior to retirement.

Thanks for watching. I appreciate the input. As you can tell, I don’t know much about antennas 😁
@yoelcarrera65862 жыл бұрын
Guys so the antena cable needs to be stretched out.?
@bobbyrichardson20682 жыл бұрын
can you run the wire through a stick of PVC or rigid conduit mounting the antenna on top to prevent critters from chewing the wires as well as keeping the wire straight? Would that work or would it affect the reception any?

How long of and extension cable can be used on one camera ? My problem is the camera is on the back side of my metal building behind my house where wifi comes from,,.the camera will not connect. So I'm thinking of extension cable on antenna ,bring the antenna to the front of the building where the camera connects very good. But camera will stay in the back of the building where I want it to be. Do you think this extension cable will provide a signal to the camera ? Let me know. Thank you.
@HuntingFarmerOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I’m not sure how long you could go before you start loosing signal because of the long distance (or needing a booster)? I’ve only tried the 30’ extension and it seemed to be fine. Maybe you could go up with the antenna instead of to the front of the building??

I use Eiotclub in all my Reolink’s and have had no issues. Are you sure the signal didn’t change because of foliage changes?
