Wouldn't you want to use distilled water, as you would have less of a chance of buildup within the machine - extending service life?

I am having jam problems when in auto mode or if I am getting tape before the machine stops whirring. Looking at the machine, the left corner of the tape is bent at an angle when it jams. Also, looking at the machine, the gap between the tape guide and the heater plate is not even. It is about a 1/16" bigger on the left side.
