Just throwing a nugget at you. When you check release - - - if the C icon is not on a particular player , even though you're check releasing, it's because he is check releasing the -MIKE- tagged player. Reason we don't see the -C- Icon in that scenario is because you can't have a -mike- icon and a -C- icon graphic on the same player on the screen. They could, but Madden doesn't design it that way. Anyways on the first play that showcases that in your video, you notice the back went to pick up that defensive end . . . that's because the C was actually on that tagged Mike. You never want your back going to pick up a defense end. That's why he got destroyed and protection will fail despite the pick up. There are rare instances where the back going to get the defensive end is fine iirc . . . like full slide protection quick game stuff. For the most part though - backs on defensive ends = sack city. If Madden was a better game, they would allow us to manually select who the back will check release . . . not just the Mic. We should also be able to put our back on dual reads < Also not in the game. Keep grinding.

O line is just terrible this year, played a guy that rushed 4 and the DE wouldn’t even be touched by the tackle he just bugged out. No heat didn’t put a guy down by the LOS or anything. Had to ID him as the Mike just to get a block

If you’re blocking 5/6 against a front with 7 blitz threats, one if your receivers has to be hot, and it shouldnt be the check and release guy

Imo offensive lineman should not be stupid in the first place. I mean every video I watch the tackles never block and u have to set this up every single play just makes it even less fun for me to play. I hate how madden decides to fix defense but instead of fixing coverage they just make o lineman not block and it seems fixed. Ea is too dumb

Zan id is for the running back or the extra blocker you have to block the running back slide away from him and id who you want him to block

ID the Mike is the most inconsistent blocking assignment in the game. For one, it resets frequently. Two, far too many blitzes where the guy you ID is the one who ends up getting the pressure.

Tbh you’re the only person I’ve seen explain it correct. If you were to block your TE and Mike the guy across.. that TE will block like a tackle.

The way to cut block is to double team the guy next to who you want to cut block, slide your line AWAY FROM HIM (usually opposite the rb) and id the Mike on that free running defender.... the rb will cut block then
