It’s so hard watching you use a jet to light your pipe. I’ve listened to your explanation of why - it just kills me, lol.

Break in your pipe gently by only smoking half a bowl, then uses a torch lighter to ignite the pipe. Bush league.

Lol theres a clear spot on the pipe from being burnt up by that lighter. Soft flame is always the way to go, have the flame above the bowl and draw the flame in gently.

Re: Breaking in a pipe. When you do the half-pack for breaking in a new pipe, do you still recommend the loose-medium-tight packing order that you describe? I guess just half as much? Or should the break-in pack be something different? Also, to build up a char in the bowl, should you put a flame to the bowl before you put tobacco in or will the break-in pack establish sufficient char on its own?
@williamd18913 жыл бұрын
Best break in is to fill it all the way with an aromatic blend and smoke it slowly so it doesn't get too hot. Aromatic blends build carbon cake faster due to their toppings/casings.

Hi! In your newest video(fanny pack) you asked for opinions on video ideas, but the comments on that video got turned off for some reason. So I just wanted to say that first thing is you should do videos you enjoy! But in my opinion(and some others possibly) you should make more educational videos about pipes/cigars, as in further from the introduction, such as: Guide to pipe shapes, Guide to tobaccos, Guide for... Either way, we love whatever you make!
@westdulis82524 жыл бұрын
Do you have a fire place? add a shot of your fire place to your intro, with your wife sitting on the couch next to your burning fire place, then make you outro, your intro, but in reverse.

Hello from sunny England ( we all know that’s a lie ……..lol). I see other folk have commented on your video about the lighter you were using. Unfortunately I don’t see anyone really contacting you politely and advising you as all pipe smokers should. So I thought to take the time out to give you some knowledge. Yes as you may have realised already it really not advisable to use a torch lighter for a few reasons. 1. It burns the rim of your pipe. 2. It also burns the top of the tobacco too quickly. ( would most definitely effect flavour). 3. Can even burn tobacco down in bowl. So there you have it good Sir. I would strongly suggest getting a zippo with pipe lighter attachment ( kinda has a hole on sides). Or if that’s too pricey just a bic lighter with flame 🔥. Happy smoking Sir. Jason 🇬🇧 U.K.

Dude, just no. Do not ever use a torch lighter to light a pipe. Or you will burn your pipe like this guy did. Use only matches or a soft flame lighter, like a Bic or Clipper. I highly recommend watching other channels about how to smoke pipes. There are many other people who put out much better information.

Since you asked rhetorically why I clicked: I clicked to learn a bit more about pipes (I suck at it and get tongue bite the majority of the time), and to get some words wisdom. My take away: take it easy reminiscing about the glory days and don't let "potential" keep you from focusing on the now. However, the "now" is a product of the past, and the future is impacted by the "now". Stupid Bourbon influenced rambling.....

I believe the title of this educational video is how to avoid damaging your new pipe in 3 minutes with proof. in my 20 years of smoking pipes this is the fastest way other than stepping, falling, sitting or hitting some one with the pipe, however I believe you did it intentionally just to harvest more views and comment. is not?
