Thank you, I can't wait to try this, I've been aiming the mic right at the snares, mostly perpendicular, to try to capture sizzle and adjusting distance. It's almost always harsh.

I believe they are both Audix clip mics.

Hey, Chris, I don't believe I did, but I don't remember exactly. I just went with the setting that sounded best. Hope that helps.

@@gainmedialab I too believe the bottom mic is out of phase! Snare should sound waaaaaaaaaaaay fuller than that. It would be great to have those samples as an example. Other than that, great video! =)

@@matimarcori Hey Mati, thanks for your comment. Although I can't remember if the channel polarity was flipped, the recording is the fuller sounding version. I did check and if I recall correctly, there actually was no major difference between flipping the polarity switch, but the fuller sounding setting is the one in the video. Hope that helps.

Hello I always encounter the problem that the mic and the kick mic are Unphase with the snare bottom mic... I don’t know if you have encountered ? it and how to solve it.

Flip your polarity on bottom mic if you haven’t already

@@kevinmerino7432 I may not be clear enough. What I want to say is that when the snare Top and the snare Bottom mic are in phase, the snare Bottom drum Mic and the kick mic are out of phase.

@@hanguoguo8717 you’re probably getting a lot bleed into your bottom snare mic. Try positioning it differently. You shouldn’t have to worry about phase issues between snare bottom and kick mic
