Better than a Clouser?

This fly is one of the best fly patterns ever designed. It catches any fish that eats fish in fresh water, salt water, warm water, or wherever. Bob Popovics designed this fly, and it is the basis of hundreds of patterns. Give it a try. I couldn't imagine not having a few with me on every trip. #fishing #flyfishing #shorts

Awesome fly! I might just stick to Clousers for the ease and quickness of tying them but this would be a better fly than the Clouser to show to fishing buddies 😁

Nicely done I have a question. After water treatment and drying.... You fish it... Does it get all scruffy/fuzzy again?

It never gets like it was originally, but in certain scenarios it might get a bit puffy. If you ever need to reset it, just repeat the process. Putting water over the fly is a critical step once you've tied them. Hope that helps!

@@TieitAndFlyit Hi T4B, 1) it looks better in your box 2) it stores better 3) it preserves the fibers better (fewer fibers are bent or broken) 4) casts way better because you have a more sleek fly 5) maintains a better profile and action, specifically when you first start fishing it. There are times when you might not want a sleek fly or part of a fly, for example on large muskie flies or when you want the fly to push maximum water, but for the most part, I want my Hollow Fleyes sleeker. Depends on the baitfish you’re imitating. You don’t always want a big profile. Also casting in the wind can be a factor.

They are incredible! Thanks for the kind words. My sowbugs are pretty simple, and I've found them to work extremely well. When fish are on sowbugs, I fish tan soft hackles, Hares Ears (if mayflies are emerging too), and a simple dubbed sowbug with spanflex or peacock down the back (3 colors: natural tan, light pink, and rainbow). Caught 1,000s of fish on these combos, but not sure if the pattern is that exciting. Thanks!

It isn't even comparable to a clouser. Clousers are heavy flies that ride with the hook point up. This pattern is unweighted and rides with the hook point down. A better comparison would be a deciever. Still a great tying video though
