@@rob_nice1 Yes, Chevrolet purchased a 2nd-hand F136 4.5L N/A Flat Plane Crank V8 from Poland @ $25K and disassembled the engine in a bid to discover how Ferrari managed to extract 562HP from it without the aid of forced induction and to learn the secret of it’s ability to consistently rev to an astonishing 9,000RPM. However, the two engines have some major design differences (e.g.) the LT6 has a massive cylinder bore of 104mm and a piston stroke of 80mm, whereas the F136 has a bore of 92mm / stroke of 81mm. Due to the enormous 5.5L displacement of the LT6 it experienced severe vibration shake during testing (common in flat plane crank engines) and one requirement necessary to counteract the violent shaking was the strengthening of the gearbox casing. Chevrolet’s LT6 5.5L N/A Flat Plane Crank V8 engineered for the Z06 produces 670HP and redlines @ 8,600RPM, but sounds quite different from the F136 in the 458 (which has a higher pitched engine note at high revs than the LT6). In my opinion, the higher revving an N/A V8, the better sounding. The 6.2L LT2 engine in the C8 Stingray is the standard cross plane muscle car affair sound-wise and the Z06 is more F1 focused with it’s flat plane exhaust note (which I’ve always preferred). I’ve always loved the sound of the 4.0L N/A Flat 6 @ 9,000RPM in the Porsche 992 GT3 / GT3RS, so it’s no surprise really. I do love the centrally mounted quad trumpet exhaust note of the previous C7 though.

I’m confused, a stock stingray makes between 490-495. According to the dyno chart this makes 571 power? If we go with the lowest number that’s only a gain of 81hp. How is this better then a z06 or eray?

Because it's not going to make 490-495 whp.490-495 is at the flywheel.
