@@OHJAJOH Both is good, pieps, laser and other new kicks and basses are an acquired taste though, sometimes they fit the track, but i'm not the biggest fan either. It does grow on me though, i think..

If you like it more extreme (yes it can), you should watch Dominator Festival 2024. It's the hardcore version of Defqon and Intens.

Please react to Sickmode & Rooler present The Gang at Rebirth 2022. That set is freaking nuts. It's 30 minutes of pure energy. The crowd, the DJ's and the atmosphere. Everything is perfect. Also The Spotlight: Sub Zero Project | Defqon.1 2022 is a fantastic set filled with emotional and agressive music.

Maybe good to watch the aftermovie of Intents and Defqon 1, top tier editing and really shows how big these festivals are. With that the Spotlight at Defqon 1 with Sefa on friday is also something amazing.

Well, unfortunately our "European Festivals" have gradually been sold off to bigger and less 'connected' organisations. In '21 or '22 many organizations were bought by a large English investment company... Superstruct simply bought the biggest festival organisations in Europe...so they quickly built up a portfolio of 90 events. Sziget, Awakenings, DefQon1, Zwarte Cross, Hideout , Flow, Mysteryland, Dominator, Decibel, DGTL, Sonar, Thunderdome, Masters of Hardcore, Boardmasters, Victorious, Wacken, Parookaville, Tinderbox and many more have been grouped for no other reason than maximizing their profit. Q-Dance soon will have only DefQon1 left, they've announced all other events to simply stop existing. They do the same for each of the other organisations...events that have been around for 25 years. It's a massive FU to the visitors, because of course the overall quality will gradually fade away... And now they're planning to sell the whole lot to another, bigger American investment company...that has literally zero intention of investing in the events itself. They see a well fed cash cow that they'll bleed out to the bones. It's disgusting...

If you want to experience what this music is all about, without the amzing shows, I hoghly recommend looking at the Adjuzt 2024 intents set. It was as simply as it gets but probably the best vibe i have experienced with any set ever

neither Defqon nor Intents are in Holland, they're in the Netherlands, Holland is just 2 of the 12 provinces (North & South Holland), Defqon is in the province Flevoland and Intents in North Brabant

The music in the 90's (hardcore/gabber/early rave/oldskool) was imo a lot better as nowadays, I mean I like the sounds, beats and basslines of hardstyle and the complete tracks are usually quite danceable, but during these festivals like Intents and Defcon1 every 10 to 15 seconds it changes completely. Hardcore was (imo) more danceable and people at parties actually all danced or walked around having a good time, at these festivals the vast majority seem to be staring to the stage (which I admit are a 1000 times prettier and spectacular as at the hardcore parties and festivals back in my day). I probably sound like an old fart right now, but it just baffles me at times.
