I saw the title of this and just went “WHAT-that can’t be-they can’t mean THAT ‘Bring Me to Life’” BUT LO AND BEHOLD AND IT SOUNDS GREAT Cant say I like it better than Amy’s, just because I prefer female voices in general and I miss the layered vocals, but they really arranged this in a way that suits his voice and style and it really shines with emotion!

The original was, musically, one of those "Remember where I was when I first heard it" songs. Have adored Amy Lee from that moment onward. She's on the Mount Rushmore of female rock vocalists for me.

You should do his version of Sia's "Alive". I actually like his version of Alive even better than Sia's. In the case of this one, I like his but really like hers better. But not with Alive...his version just takes a great song and turns it into a Rock version that I like even more.

Know that I am a huge Evanescence fan. I like the band as much as it sounds like you do. I also like the original of Bring Me a to Life a lot. Maybe you could argue it is an era defining moment in music music. But i still disagree with you that it is as great as you seem to feel it is. For a couple reasons. 1. The rapping part of it sort of ruins the song. It is great and feels epic the first few times you hear it, but after years of hearing the song, I cringe when I hear the rapping part. Many people now know Amy Lee was forced by her record producer to include the male rapper. Evanescence’s Synthesis version is better than the original, imo. Mainly for this reason. I don’t know if you are partially referring to that in this video. I’m guessing not. 2. I think you are over hyping it partially becauseI she does have some songs that are better. She still has that voice we love. She also still puts a lot of emotion into many of her songs. Both of these points are clearly subjective, but I still agree with your general opinion that it’s a great song. As for Dayghtry’s cover. It is great. It might be one of the best cover’s I’ve in a while. In comparison to the original, I like them each better for different reasons.
