Is this new leather better than the factory leather from Jeep?
Last month we converted this 2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave from its light grey stock leather seats to custom heavy-duty aftermarket leather from Katzkin. We installed Katzkin's most durable leather option (Their XT Leather) into this beautiful Gladiator so that it’s ready for every off-roading adventure its owner takes it on. We use a variety of heat and steam techniques to help us perfectly shape and fit the leather to the seats, making it fit as close to (or better than!) factory leather as possible. This customer chose a custom leather design in black with hexagon stitched inserts and custom logo embroidery on the backrests.
Are you wondering if you should convert your cloth seats to leather? Here are some of the benefits:
1. Looks Beautiful. (in our opinion) Sleek, luxurious, and fully customizable, there’s no questioning the beauty of leather seats.
2. Simple to Maintain. Leather seats don’t require a specialty deep cleaning tool to remove spills like cloth seats do. Instead, for spills, crumbs, dog drool, or melted chocolate, simply vacuum or wipe them down and you’re good to go!
3. Easy to Repair. Seeing many repairs come and go through our shop each week I can attest to the ease at which a proper repair can be completed. At United we don’t do patching or putty, there’s no point when we can make a repair that can last you many years instead, by swapping out the damaged panels with new material.
4. Durability. Leather seats will last you a very long time, and are more resistant to tears and scratches, which ultimately increases the resale value of your vehicle.
5. Comfort. Our aftermarket leather seats come with a thicker foam that makes your ride just that much more comfortable.
6. Better than seat covers: When done well, aftermarket leather upholstery looks and feels like it was installed in a factory. No ill fits, no shifting around, no wrinkles.
7. Cheaper than that fancy trim level: Looking at buying a new car but can’t stomach the additional $8,000 - $20,000 for that trim level with the leather upholstery? Aftermarket usually ranges from $1,600 - $4,000 and puts the control of design into your hands.
8. Increases resale value: A nice interior factors in when you’re trying to sell your car and it can make a big difference in how much a person is willing to pay when buying used.
