Installing Leather Seats In a Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator

In this video I go through the steps of installing a Katzkin leather seat kit.
The Drivers seat is the most complicated. I recommend starting with the back seats and getting a feel for the process. It took me about 2.5 hours per seat once I figured out the process. The Drivers seat took little longer since it is the most difficult.

Nice. I installed my wife’s Katzkins in her Sahara years ago and am getting ready to do my Rubicon next week. This was a great refresher for me, as I barely remembered some of the frustrating parts, such as that lumbar dial. 🤘🏼kickass vid.

Where did you order yours from? Did it come with installation instructions? Was it easy to figure out what needed to be done to remove everything to get the seats ready for the new covers? Curious how the back seats and their difficulty. Sorry for a few questions, I want to do this to my gladiator. Thanks!

Sorry to taking so long answer your question. I ordered through Katzkin at their booth during Easter Jeep Safari. Which is sweet because you can touch sample fabric and see colors in person. I asked a lot of questions when I was working with the sales rep. No instructions were provided since Katzkin typically wants you to pay an installer, and self install is a special request. The back is super easy I started there since they were the easiest and least visible incase I made a mistake (and there aren't any airbags in the back). To prep for the install I watched a lot of videos, and just planned to do one seat per day. It took me about 3 hours to do my first seat. Only really trick thing is the seatbelt and the board on the back of the seat. If you have factory leather the back seat cup holder will add another challenge (I have factory cloth so not sure about that process).

Thanks! I believe the seats are Tek Color Tan. There are three colors between the accent trim, seat stitching, and Rubicon embroidery, but I don't recall what I used.

How were you able to get the seats in that color with the RUBICON on the seat.

Katzkin is contracted with MOPAR so you have access to the factory logos, and when you do a custom order you have access to leather and thread colors.

How did you get Katzkins seats? I tried but they tell me they can only set me up with an installer and from what I’ve seen these installers don’t do a very good job they have to remove the seats take them back to their shop I don’t want anyone touching my vehicle except my self and I would do a much better job installing then they would, I personally think it’s a scam I called CATSINZ directly but then they redirected me to a salesman who expected me to drive over 200 miles round-trip to have my seats done that’s ridiculous why don’t they just sell the covers and let us install them so personally my experience so far has been very negative with Katzkins also a friend of mine just recently ordered seat covers from Katzkins and the order wasn’t done correctly he didn’t get the stitching he wanted and they did a lousy job installing you can see where they messed up so my buddy had to redo the seats it’s ridiculous.

@jonluchessi1643, Vendor shows are probably the only way to get them without install, and your best chance at getting a good result mostly because you have a direct contact (if you grab a business card). Talking to the reps they are hesitant to let people install them to avoid poor installs. I've heard some good things about leather seats.com. They seem to be oriented towards DIY. They sell tool and have a bunch of additional options. I haven't personally used them so I'm just going off what I've researched (@LeatherSeats)
