Me 2!! The first time I wore a wig to work (it was a super petty job at a nursing home) 2 days later I got called to the manager office and she said I heard you had a wig on and sunglasses on Sunday. I said well the sunglasses was because I have debilitating migraines and light hurts. Its in my hire chart. And the wig? Whats wrong with wearing a wig? My hair is difficult to style. My manager said "well I wear wigs but you are..... " she meant white I'm white And it made me feel so insecure. I am white but my hair texture is more kinky curly and wigs and cornrows help protect my hair but I get attacked for it. I'm just trying to not look crazy

I was crazy for a long time. Before youtube I never knew that African American’s wore wigs/ had braids installed. I always thought that it was their real hair and always went to the salon to have their hair done. I was like...why didn’t God give me beautiful hair like that?!?! Disclaimer: I have thin and fine hair. Like for real- monkey hairs! 🤣 When I finally woke up and learned I ran out and got extensions. African American hair care is far superior to anything the white community offers. At least for my hair type. All I ever see is white girls with a head full of perfect , thick as horse hair HAIR! I. Don’t. Have. That. Never will. Thanks for the post beautiful!❤️
