To put this performance in perspective the listener must keep in mind that this is still a fifteen year old child covering one of the most famous and world renowned vocalists in the world. Angelina is so self assured and confident in her vocal abilities that she is absolutely fearless when it comes to her choosing to cover the best of the past and current artists. More often than not her vocal arrangements of the covers she sings are better than the original song’s. As far as I’m concerned I much prefer to listen to Angelina’s interpretations of Adele’s songs. There is no question that Angelina was endowed with highly developed musical intellect, intuition, instincts and the emotional hypersensitivity to lay bare the essence of the lyrics.

Quality comments and a quality reaction. That's the way it should be done and I look forward to more! Who is Angelina Jordan? She is a 16-year-old gifted vocalist who won Norway's Got Talent at the age of eight! More importantly, she is a committed humanitarian who gave away her shoes to an orphan girl at the age of six, and whose goal is to bring peace and love to the world. Her humble and grounded values have inspired me, and with her music, have captured my emotions, and have impacted the way I view my life. I eagerly await her first album of original music with Republic Records, and also know she will continue to devote her energies to charitable causes. I trust that reactors and fans alike will interact with Angelina's videos and channels, which should be linked on the description page, to boost her algorithm. I know she would want the same consideration for each featured artist. Angelina is destined to become a superstar, both musically and as a human being, and you as a reactor and we as her fans can help her achieve that! Peace and Love.

One of the many things that amazes me about this performance is that within hours of Adele's release she posted it short on TT, followed only 10 days later with this magnificent studio cover. Genius.

People will always have their favorite singers and they will never give them up or say someone else sang the song better. They will say they did a good job, or they did it different. But truth of it all is some singers in history have been better than most. Angelina Jordan is one of those singers she has it all and I pray 🙏 she never looses it or interference from outside people. She is great the way she is. God bless
@albertstern19452 жыл бұрын
She is getting so good that I believe she will rewrite Music History and become a Music Legend. Adele is one of the best. But nobody can emit the emotion and soul of a song like Angelina. I think she reads the lyrics first before listening to the song. In this way she can understand the feeling and emotion the artist wants to convey. Then she arranges it to be able to dramatically convey the feeling and emotion to us. She takes iconic songs and makes them Angelina songs. Her vocals, tones and smokiness do the rest. She is already The Greatest of All Time! Just amazing!!

I read in an interview that she said she felt a connection to this song as soon as she heard it. That would explain how she was able to post a TikTok video of this only 6 hours after Adele released it, and posted this video just 11 days later. My thoughts were that she is singing about her own childhood as she was growing up, and Adele was singing to her son about her divorce. It fits both scenarios, but I feel Angelina's version is sung with more feeling and emotion.

I always enjoy your comments highlighting the way she sings and the way she caries herself and all the little details that go with that. So keep it coming, ignore people not liking it: they should just go and listen to someone else. I just tend to ignore the haters and trolls. She can indeed move into and out of performance mode in the blink of an eye. I understand what you see that it can leave the audience hanging in the performance. She is highly critical of herself and keeps pushing and pushing herself to get better. If people listen to it, they sometimes feel it is very similar to Adele, but if you play them back to back, the differences are immense as you noticed right of the bat. Adele makes wonderful personal songs and is an amazing artist. Angelina said she is one of her inspirations and when she covers Adele's songs it is always something extra special. Angelina can probably really relate to the part of I was still a child, didn't get the chance to feel the world around me. I had no time to choose, what I chose to do.' Thanks and keep it going! :-)

I don't think you should worry about what her diehard fans say. I follow 3 Angelina fan groups and if you say one critical word against her, you get crucified. I hope she has at least a couple of critical people around her or she'll never learn how to get better. I've always thought that stage presence was her weak point not while she's singing but between songs and sometimes when an instrument is soloing. If you watch her full concert from last year you'll see what I mean. You are just doing what a real reactor is supposed to do, react and honestly report what you see, hear and feel.
@tnae2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that. I have honestly and for the second time been debating with myself about whether I want to keep putting videos on her out. You are correct. But in looking at her presence on stage I always to try keep in mind that the young lady is still a child, lol. I don’t expect her to feel 100% confident or be 100% in control all th time. That would be crazy. She is a remarkable talent and has a bright future in front of her. I feel the same about hoping she has critical people around her but more than that I hope she has grounded people around her who can communicate that it’s perfectly okay to have an insecurity or to get tired or to be unsure or to make a mistake. It’s perfectly ok and a part of every humans journey no matter the circumstances. The pressure some of her fans put on her by claiming things like she never gets tired or nervous or she never makes mistakes….I just imagine trying to live up to that on top of being a 16 year old girl. It must be hard and I just hope she has good people around her.

She understands that one must earn the adoration she is receiving from BILLIONS of fans. Rob Christie Playing Piano: That dude playing the piano is Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California, and he has been working with AJ since she signed with the largest record company in the world at the age of 14, two years ago. Rob was the MC of AJ Christmas Show that aired Dec 23, of 21. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? Jimmy stated that AJ was the best he has ever played for. Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California played the guitar, and was the MC of the show. (I can't list the complete backgrounds on all the band members because it would take several pages to do them justice.) Angelina stated that she would rather perform than take a breath, and she has never been forced to perform, it has been her decision.

I love the way you describe the physical aspects of her performance. And when you mentioned her glottal closure, it takes me back to when she was singing Bohemian Rhapsody and there was this gorgeous note which of course, I played over and over and noticed the placement of her tongue. I don’t know if that’s what gives her the ability to deliver the beautiful vocal fry register people talk of or not. I’ve only ever noticed it once before with, I think Björk so am wondering if it’s because of her native language and how she delivers words. I’m no singer so clueless but I do know that with this once in a lifetime gorgeous child enigma, when I’m listening to her, I stop thinking. She has me totally trapped and captivated.

I agree with you in everything... including the way that she almost always drop the character when the singing ends but the music not yet. We know how much this should never happen on stage (in theater or music performances). But there are two things to consider: 1) In the home videos she recorded, this is not so important, given the informality involved. 2) Her smile, demonstrating her affection for the audience (whether on video or live) is a part of her thing, her charisma... and carried over from her childhood performances. Perhaps this gesture is a consequence precisely of the short, homemade videos (on TikTok, etc.) which, by tradition, have this final "bye-bye" or the smiling thing.

You shall be forgiven! ;) just kidding, I don´t remember you criticizing her. She can instantly and easily switch from innocent girl to professional artist.. this is something I see in many young geniuses.. they are nothing nervous, not even on a huge stage, when they do what they love and are able to switch into their comfort zone. But when they need to talk or interact to people in another way, many feel awkward or get shy. For example Aurora is afraid of people and got anxiety attacks before the performances, also she doesn´t like to hug strangers (but she is not shy). Angelina feels a little awkward yet in interviews. Master violists are stuttering words to the audience before a performance, only to make a perfect performance thereafter. I enjoy your reactions, because you focus on postures, body language, details that others miss, and this makes it interesting and different. Thank you for this!

Yeah stage presence can be a lot of different things. My mistake really, or our mistake. You could have easily been interpreted as asking for cartwheels and for her to juggle flaming batons while singing. You also regarded likely her most personal song she wrote, an original, as something you didn't think she was feeling, and you weren't believing. Of all songs from the gifted storyteller we know, the kind you found here, that was the incorrect song to say that about. But in a sense, it was if anything guarded. As it maybe had to be. A very human and relatable thing, guarded emotions. Perfectly reasonable stage presence emotion to have if you ask me. Similar to Adele's performances of this exact song really, easy on me. But I mean it was mostly just that reaction, one of your first, it happens. Mistakes were made by you and some commenters like me, we know more about you, you know more about her, and apologies for sure if any opinions or corrections seemed over the top. We love her storytelling, consider it a strength since she was a child, a scary and uncommon strength. Forgive the passion, certainly her voice is a big part of how easily she carries us to another dimension, a part of the storytelling that isn't necessarily supposed to be, and wouldn't be maybe for someone trained to look for certain things. A separate leg up to her storytelling, helping it out. One could easily fall for this girl, and roll their eyes at a stage presence coach, thinking about Katy Perry dancing around with a thousand dancers in strange costumes, flying around on ropes and pullies. As I'm sure you can understand.

By the way: as a performance coach it would be interesting to see your reaction to her recent live performances, such as this one of her own (wonderful) song Million Miles: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZ2rYYN5abV4hrM

You might like to remove the dating video from the Angelina playlist.

Yes please remove this dating vid from your AJ playlist... nothing to do with her!

Hi! I hit Report and had it deleted on the criteria that it could be pornography.

@@alberttenfoot It is from a content creator I have seen before. What I have seen is a dating advice channel that just gives bad advice. Simply should not be in AJ’s playlist. (Whatever it takes to get it removed!)

I’m confused…I didn’t put anything in her playlist. I wish you had waited to report it so I could see what you’re all talking about. There were an incident a while ago when I suspected I had been hacked. False reporting on videos is a serious thing. If you find anything suspicious on my channel in the future please send me an email. It’s much easier to reach me there than here in the din with hundreds of other comments. But thanks for drawing my attention to it.
