So a couple of things, first off I'm barely awake and have not had my monster and the intro made me jump haha. Great job Brandon, it takes a real person to show the nut wasn't tight and then the vise wasn't tight when you first start to cut the bolt, kudos to you for showing that. Alot of "big" YT'ers would have edited that out.

I've bought 3 aftermarket carbs for my Crapsman LT1000 17.5 Briggs and Scrapem'. I put a new fuel line, fuel filter and no luck starting up. I put a spark tester, and i do have spark. Found out i have a fuel delivery issue. Can the Niki 6 carb cause vapor lock? I'm assuming this is my issue. I got it to run by spraying starting fluid, but it backfired bad and found fuel all over the exterior of the carb. Im hoping i didn't damage anything. Any suggestions 🤔 Thanks a bunch 😎👍

Nikki carbs known to bypass. I recommend oem over aftermarket when it comes to the carb. Yes they are more expensive but worth it for the piece of mind

I bought a new shut off solenoid and it won’t want to be screwed in all the way up, at half way up it keeps spinning HELP

Clean the threads with a tap

And use a thinwrench if you don’t have one make one it 13mm most of the time you want to tighten the solenoid from the top of the solenoid . Bottom part turns freely so you can’t tighten from there

What do you do with the solenoid and the wires that go to it from the wiring harness?
@BSSMALLENGINES6 ай бұрын
You can remove them from the harness or tape it up. This mower didn’t have a solenoid originally but the carb I had did

@@BSSMALLENGINES my plug melted down on my l118 mower redering the solenoid and harness junk. I have been looking for a new plug but it is hard to find. If I can just cut the plug and use your method that would be good unless the tractor knows that I have done that and wont start.

@@RaveXMotorsports it will still run no problem only problem on some of the bigger engines it shuts off the solenoid instead of grounding out the coils to kill the engine but most grounds the coils

i am working on my sisters' carb and expected to have the engine start after pouring some fuel down the carb throat weather the solenoid was functioning or not , but; it would not fire and i have strong spark at the plug ?? any suggestions , i don't really understand how this solenoid is incorporated into the fuel , air supply ?? !!

It stoppers the bottom of the jet, blocking feul from leaving the bowl.

why not just remove the solenoid needle

Will the fuel shut off switch be a potential cause of oil mixing with the gas?
@BSSMALLENGINES Жыл бұрын
No a bad needle will cause that. A fuel shut off solenoid is to help with preventing backfiring when shutting engines down but they don't always work.
@DonaldRak-ku6bi Жыл бұрын
Hey sir, these solenoids are problem they shut off fuel to engine if they just burn out like mine did yesterday. Lucky my tractor didn't catch fire from silly coil in solenoid unit. So add fuel shut off valve before the in line fuel filter. I took off my solenoid and to find out the black rubber plunger on stainless tiny shaft was loose as all hell caused the burn out problem letting fuel too down shaft to hot energized coil in it. Dam

@@DonaldRak-ku6biI had the exact same issue with my old (21 years) Craftsman riding mower. Wiring and plug to solenoid caught fire but quickly just went out. Very scary situation for sure.
