I've seen these shovels used by various outdoor You Tubers when snow camping and trekking with snowmobiles. Very handy indeed being light and packs away small. I have a 48" lightweight aluminum shovel with a fiberglass handle and small shovel width which I keep in my truck for emergencies. I'll probably pick up one of these to replace it since it is smaller.
@savage63942 жыл бұрын
I took a snow shovel from a trash can on the street about 8-9 years ago, it ended up being the BEST snow shovel I’ve ever used. As you push the snow it rolls off the top, back in front of the shovel making a perfect “Log” of snow that rolls along easily. This effect makes clearing snow a breeze! I’ve searched Hi, Low and everywhere in between and cannot find another one like it. There’s no name anywhere on it. The closest thing I’ve found is a shovel called Bigfoot. It’s Orange in color the same as the original and the shape is real close. The build quality however, is not close at all.

This is to thank you for your timely post. I am in Buffalo. The blizzard left six to ten-foot high (and wider) drifts closing off every door and window in my house. I could not push any storm door open. I remembered that my daughter had a hoe-type avalanche shovel stored with her old ski gear. After popping out a glass pane in the storm door, I was able to remove enough snow to crawl out. Once out, on top of the drift, I was able to clear a 3 foot area from the door so it would open. The rest of the snow removal project has been a bit more challenging. Thank you again.

If you really want to move snow without killing your back, get a large sleigh shovel. You slide the shovel under the snow and then slide it to wherever you want to put it. A quick shove and yank and the snow is dumped. I stopped using my snowblower after I got a couple of those.

Just bought that thing on amazon... Ok for lifting snow, sucks for actual clearing the majority of the driveway IMO, need an actual real normal shovel to run the driveways to the ends, and then can use that to lift the snow and finish the job, but meh, I find I get too lazy dealing with two shovels, and just lift properly with the normal one...but I can definitely see how that snowjoe would help really soft snow, or people with bad backs for sure

Thank you for your informative videos. I have used satisfactorily, the last 10 years, a WORX WA0230 AeroCart Wheelbarrow with the Snow Plow attachment to clear my driveway and walkways. It's too long for tight spaces so a regular snow shovel is used for that. I'm considering your suggestion for getting an avalanche type shovel to use instead of the regular snow shovel and to keep in my vehicles. Also, after seeing the reports on the cordless electric snow shovels I just acquired an Earthwise SN74016 40V Lithium Battery Operated Ion Cordless 16" Snow Shovel. It will get its first use tomorrow based on the weather forecast for lots of snow. I hope this will replace the need for the hand tools I now use.

I spent a lot of time back country skiing and camping in the 90's and early 00's. I have owned several shovels designed specifically for avalanche and back country use. Some were aluminum, some were plastic. The one I keep in my wife's car is a 25 year old Lifelink with a plastic blade. It is the one I used most, and it still works every single time it is needed. I often volunteered with the local avalanche forecaster with the US forest service. We would ride snowmobiles way back into the North Idaho mountains and dig pits for the weekly forecast. Our shovels got a lot of hard use. Luckily, I never once had to use it for its main intended purpose, digging out an avalanche victim. If you live where there are ski and snowboard or snowmobile retailers, check with them about buying a shovel. The jungle website should be your last resort for buying things, not your first choice.

The only people I trust on the Internet to review products. ( PS. I know snow tremendously because in Quebec we have snow for at least a good 5 months in a year…That shovel you are reviewing should be in all Canadian cars…. Compact and able to be manipulated in different ways…) Just always stay honest which for me you have been doing so. Thank you from French Quebec, Canada, Montreal more precisely. I am a person who doesn’t care much about the price of a product when I know it well last long….. I will save a bit more, wait longer, and ultimately the products I buy will provide me with much happiness for years for my purchase. And years of great working products….. I think you are a person like me and I am certain you love great products, which are made and engineered for a good lifetime of use…. I do understand that in the end when you spend a bit more money , and research why the value of a certain product is more expensive….. there are reasons why…. The value of that extra money spent will ultimately give you joy with your product… Any GX HONDA engine within anything will last a lifetime…. My Honda 7000W Generator connected to my home with a separate breaker box installed by an electrician is just amazing….. Any Honda GX engine with a Karcher pump for a pressure washer machine is truly powerful….. or my Honda Snowblower, or my Honda Commercial Lawnmower…… a bit heavy. I am a restaurateur now…. But I know 4 stroke engines , 2 stroke etc…. But if I had a terrain in the summer as smooth as yours it seems in your new house….. That British Lawnmower seems like a delight….. Happy Holidays ! And Bonne Année as we in french Montreal say…. Love your channel….Silver Cymbal….. I am an artist….. are you a Drummer ? Cheers et Merci !

One tip I have is I've been dragging the shovel and it's easier on the back if you leave it straight, put it between your legs, bend your legs, and drag using your legs kind of side stepping(crab walk like) while keeping your elbows locked using push arm to hold further down the shaft to allow leverage and keep back straight. I was young and didn't have any injuries, but it still helped a lot even then!

Everyone knows, there is not just one shovel 😂😂. I like an avalanche shovel for skiing (yes I use it for its purpose) and keeping in the car for emergencies, but but I also like scoop shovels for throwing in my truck during a big storm which are just better since they are bigger. If it’s heavier icy snow I prefer a metal scoop shovel or transfer shovel…and a light dusting I’ll use a plow shovel. Sometimes I’ll use a Pulaski and digging shovel for icey snow. A sled style shovel is nice for the roof. And how could I resist buying an electric shovel…I think you get my point. And don’t even get me started on snowblowers. I love tools, and have an am very vulnerable at the hardware store…and ironically I don’t live where it snows, but do have a cabin, and have to hire out snow removal since I can’t always be there…but when I’m there and get to shovel 😍😍😍.
