The same applies to all modern inventions. Drive your competitors out then make the product super cheap. Literally every American car manufacturer.

I know why. Bad cooling. Many are in plastic housing with low cooling fins and minimal aluminium plate inside. Cheap LED lights are okay for like toilet lights, because they don't need light up for long time. But as shop light or so, for long time light up, better buy more expensive ones with cooling fins or aluminum body.

I’m sorry if this is a dumb question: Wouldn’t it be the same result if the outlets weren’t connected? There’s no (or very little) potential difference between the two hot wires, or between the neutral wires.

Great info, you did take a safe approach, corporate found a way to do it cheaper so it would last shorter intervals to increase consumption/ shareholder value.

Exactly. Figured it out when I was 10 years old. I run into too many BEM jobs. First thing I check for on trailers with lighting problems. The other one is Chinese wire. No matter how good a crimp it squeezes out and breaks off.

Oof, one year later and they've raised the price on the 1/2" version from $250 to $300. Cool idea but you could easily sweat a ball valve at a location shown in the demo for less than $20.

I literally had Walmart leds in my bathroom fixtures. The glass fell out of the socket and landed in my sinks. Happened twice. Threw all of those bulbs away.

This all goes back to the incandescent bulb conspiracy; light bulbs were lasting "too long" so the big manufactures got together to design and produce a bulb that lasts "about" 6000 hours, even though they typically last less. The way the LED companies get away with it is that they specifically say the LED will last "20 years", which is accurate, the issue lies in the drivers required to power said LEDs that are designed to go out in a year or so. This is all intentional, and one would think the EPA would demand better for our environment; their lack of action on things like this show they don't actually care about our environment, only forcing their political narrative under the guise of a federal agency. Perhaps a small company will come out that actually makes a bulb that will truly last "20 years".

I don't what you're talking about. I bought a box of LEDs right after the ban. 12 bulbs. Still have most of them unused in the box.

I'm gonna guess that the majority of the people in government that made this happen are invested into the companies that make l e d light bulbs. so the fact that they burn out easily and faster is because they can make more money.

Late to the game BUT tell how to do this after a NorthEastern Winter that following spring. When stuff is covered in salt and etc. Me, personally, used to be a detailer, I always used HOT water if the engine is hot. Cold water is the engine is cold. Always covered the alternator.

Don't forget that most auto manufacturers are moving towards all LED lights for cars too. Just think of the 10 year old vehicles coming soon that will need new headlamps at $1400 each or new brake lights at $800 each. At that point do you just sell the car because new lights are 1/4 to 1/2 the value of the vehicle? Why are we designing like this for wear/maintenance items?

Overhead light fixtures in RVs are now sold as completely replaceable LED units. Two years ago I replaced all of the lights in my RV and now, aftee two years of full time use, like clockwork, they are all failing. Except it's not the LEDs that seem to be failing, it's something in the switch or wiring that's going bad. Some of the LEDs don't seem to be lighting but if I give the fixture a slight tap they come on.

DON'T EXPECT CIRCUIT BREAKERS TO SAVE YOU! Circuit breakers protect the wire, for them to trip suggest that the wire that should be paired with them is likely in reasonable danger of burning up, at best they will save you from a fire. Thereby for them to trip enough power must be flowing, the power required to stop a heart (assuming the resistance of the skin can be overcome is less than a thousandth of what the smallest commonly in use breakers will allow. Your standard household plugs and wires actually allow power to flow between the leads, just within reasonable limits. Water itself is not conductive, it's the dissolved minerals, and metals that make it so. Water and it's contents can't move that much power, but the amountvit can is way more than what is needed to kill you.

Pellet stoves are a scam for you to be reliant on a company. Just like if your house was heated by oil. You have absolutely zero freedom whereas if you had an actual woodstove, then you could go out into the woods cut your own firewood split it let it season and burn it all with your hard work making that possible but you cannot make your own wood pellets at home. The equipment would cost way too much, and nobody is literally doing that so you’re forced to always be reliant on a distributor for your material which is dumb
