I am also proud of you!! My dad would have had 40 years, but he died a week before, aged 83. I went to Alateen (for children of alcoholics, for those who don't know). Unfortunately, my mom wouldn't stop drinking back then. I grew up an only child with cats, and they and Alateen saved me from the extremely difficult home situation. God bless you, and "Keep coming back" because "It works if you work it"!

@@75JayLady yes, I’m doing good, thanks! What didn’t kill me made me stronger, as they say. I’ve had a sometimes difficult but very satisfying life. Now I’m dealing with going into “older” age (66), and not enjoying that very much. Trying to ease out of my somewhat bizarre career, but it’s something you can never really get out of 🙄. I still have 5 cats keeping me alive, plus 2 kids who live in a neighboring state that I see when we all get a chance. So overall, things are pretty darned good, all things considered. The only thing that would make it ideal is if I could still surf, but my health really no longer permits it and I’m landlocked anyway. Thanks for writing, and as we used to say in the ‘70s, “Hang in there, baby”! 🇲🇽🏄‍♀️

I've heard that in Canada, once you file a report of domestic violence, you can try to withdraw the complaint, but it's up to the crown because so many women try to walk back the allegations. This is one of the reasons that would be a good idea. I'm not saying that Sarah and Jorge weren't physically abusive to each other, but it was clearly an ongoing problem and led to this murder.

The videos on her phone that the prosecution saved for rebuttal destroyed any hope of her battered partner defense, her coaching him on what to say to get her charges dropped when they both got arrested, her yelling at him, even him hitting the tv with the bat- 2 swings and he’s out of breath. Makes me think that the majority of her injuries were her being a stumbling sloppy drunk and him defending himself when she attacked him. I’ve got a family member that managed to fracture her own neck in a blackout and had no idea the next morning, went to work and her coworkers were like WTH happened to you?? She had no clue.

There was a witness statement made by their next door neighbour. They shared the adjoining wall where the stairs were. Her neighbour said that they were woken in the night by the sound of something heavy banging/falling down the stairs. I think that J got in the case upstairs in the bedroom and S pushed him down the stairs. That fall was ultimately what killed him.

I watched this with EDB it was wild! What's even wilder is she's still writing letters because her appellate attorney hasn't contacted her 😂 My favourite part was her asking the judge to tell lawyer 6 or 7 (I think) to stop being so snotty.. that was a moment! So was her blaming his mother 🤦‍♀️

Not everyone is capable of storytelling. So besides being it all very boring, it’s disrespectful towards the victim. And that’s what bothers me most about it. There’s time and place for jokes and makeup . Victims deserve better. They deserve to be remembered but not like this. It’s not even funny. Stick to fictional stories. Maybe it will work out. Using death and tragedy to get done clicks is immoral and pathetic.
